The Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health, located in downtown White Plains, is hiring for Case Manager I (Mental Health Certified Peer Specialist): Under supervision, an incumbent of this class is responsible for counseling and conducting outreach activities/referrals as part of a comprehensive professional program designed to provide community support services and mental health services for clients with mental health and behavioral issues in emergency, inpatient/outpatient, community support programs, and/or residential settings; within the guidelines of all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures. To include outreaching shelter homeless individuals and those at risk of becoming homeless. The outreach team reaches people who might not otherwise seek assistance or come to the attention of the homelessness service system. Through its work, the team ensures that people’s basic needs are met while supporting individuals along pathways toward housing stability and quality of life improvements.
