Job Description JOB TITLE: Driver/PorterDEPARTMENT: Homeless ServicesFLSA: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Service Coordinator LOCATION: White Plains,NY SALARY: $18.00 Hourly SUMMARY: To provide safe, timely transportation of Westhab shelter residents and assist with maintenance activities. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Transports Westhab residents and staff as directed to scheduled clinic appointments, food pantry runs, other Westhab sites, housing and employment appointments, meetings, pick-up and delivery of supplies, inter-office mail, and if necessary, client moves to EHAP or permanent housing., • Checks vehicle(s) on a daily basis for gas, oil, and fluid levels and mechanical defects., • Assists with moving office furniture., • Completes daily vehicle check log., • Reports any vehicle accidents or damage to Facility Manager and Service Coordinator., • Cleans all vehicle(s) interiors and exteriors as needed., • Ensures vehicle inspection and registration stickers are current, and notifies Facility Manager one month before expiration date., • Drives vehicle(s) to service and inspection appointments., • Assists with maintenance activities on-site including but not limited to sweeping and moping floors, shoveling snow, cleaning windows, replenishing supplies, and taking out garbage. High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years related driving experience. Must have a valid NYS Driver’s license and clean record. Some weekend and/or evening hours may be required.
