Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: MAINTENANCE MECHANIC DIVISION: FACILITY FLSA: NON-EXEMPT REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR SALARY: $21.63 P/H SUMMARY: Willow Men’s Shelter is a homeless shelter which houses 150 men. Some of the residents are formerly incarcerated individuals who are currently on parole. There are also individuals who suffer from mental health issues and addiction. The Maintenance Mechanic performs all necessary repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry fields. Keeps facility in working order using troubleshooting techniques and performing repairs as necessary. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Complete any work orders assigned., • Troubleshoots and repairs minor plumbing, electrical and heating issues as they arise, to include seasonal coil cleaning of all window and wall sleeve AC units, • Handle carpentry duties assigned. To include, sheetrock repairs, plastering, and sanding, and painting needs, as necessary., • Repairs and replacements doors, window hardware, as needed., • Repairs any client damage to rooms, furniture or room fixtures., • Complete preventative maintenance tasks assigned., • Escorts outside contractors, and other visitors as needed, in the absents of the Lead Mechanic., • In the absences of lead mechanic, accepts and verifies deliveries and notifies Facility Manager, • Repair and or replace electrical outlets, switches, light fixtures, • Troubleshoots and repairs all plumbing washers and seats, drain lines, sinks, tubs and toilets. Job Description A premier Condominium in downtown Flushing, New York, seeks to fill a handyman position. The newly hired handyman plays an important role in the Condominium community by working closely with the Management and the Superintendent to maintain a safe and secure living environment. Job Description *Note: this is a LIVE IN super position. *Must pass a mandatory background check -have 8+ years of experience working in multifamily housing or the family shelter system in nyc. -must have expertise in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work, as well as painting and plastering.
