Job Description Under supervision, a Mechanic operates, maintains, and adjusts HVAC and plumbing equipment; and performs related work. As a Mechanic you will ensure efficient and twenty-four hour operation of all equipment and utilities for the Met’s Facilities operation. You will work with the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, Engineers, and other Mechanics as part of the team by repairing the life safety systems and other related building operations, including elevators. A Mechanic maintains and monitors all hot water, steam, utilities, pumps, compressors, air handlers, fire and life safety systems in order to provide a safe environment. In this hands-on role, you will assist with mailroom and shipping services, office and conference room setups, furniture assembly and moves, basic maintenance and repairs, document production, AV and event support, onboarding and offboarding logistics, and other operational needs.
