Description We are seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer who will manage a collaborative and dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission. The successful candidate will serve as a Lead Engineer and Technical Project Manager on high voltage electric transmission line design projects of overhead and underground systems for some of the largest utilities in the country as well as regional utilities. The candidate will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC, and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of all types of capital and maintenance projects from 34.5 kV to 765 kV. What You’ll Do Capital Raising and Transaction Management (50%) o Support capital raising activities including HoldCo/Mezzanine financing and non-recourse project financing such as debt (e.g., construction loan, term debt, back leverage), leases and tax equity for renewable energy battery storage, and other energy-related technology development projects. o Assist the deal captain or serve as the deal captain to coordinate internal and external tax, accounting, and legal teams to develop appropriate transaction structures specifically related to tax-incentivized financing (utilizing expertise in capital accounts, basis, depreciation) and debt financings o Assist with the deal-closing process, including coordinating reviews and approvals across multi-functional teams, to bring transactions to financial close under tight timeframes. Financial Analysis and Valuation (25%) o Ability to review completeness and accuracy of detailed financial analysis and valuation models to evaluate the economic merits and risks associated with contracted / merchant revenue tariffs and/or off-take contracts with different financing options. o Develop and maintain robust valuation methodologies with key defensible assumption driving the pro-forma financials, oversight of valuation at the project and overall portfolio level. You will report to our VP of Project Engineering and Preconstruction and will be a hybrid role based out of our Oakland, CA, Santa Monica, CA, Ridgewood, NJ, or NYC offices. Key responsibilities will include: • Develop, manage, and maintain commissioning plans, schedules, and execution strategies across multiple microgrid projects simultaneously., • Define commissioning scope, sequencing, resource requirements, readiness criteria, acceptance criteria, and handoff requirements for solar PV, BESS, generators, switchgear, protection, and controls., • Establish and maintain standardized commissioning processes, templates, procedures, and documentation to be used across the project portfolio., • Track commissioning progress, risks, and constraints across all active sites and communicate status to project leadership., • Coordinate commissioning activities performed by EPCs, OEMs, integrators, utilities, and third-party independent commissioning agents., • Manage interfaces between commissioning activities and construction completion, energization, and utility interconnection. Support temporary power planning, procurement, and implementation for on-site commissioning activities., • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, EHS, Controls, and Operations teams to ensure commissioning readiness., • Review and approve commissioning test plans, FAT/SAT procedures, and functional test scripts., • Ensure integrated system testing validates microgrid functionality, including islanding, resynchronization, black-start, and load management., • Coordinate with utilities, AHJs, and inspectors to support energization, witnessing, acceptance, and performance testing., • Ensure proper turnover of commissioned systems to Asset Management, including training coordination and documentation completeness., • Capture lessons learned and continuously improve commissioning processes across the portfolio.The Ideal Candidate:, • 10+ years of experience in commissioning management, power systems engineering, or project delivery for DER, microgrid, or utility-scale power systems., • Demonstrated experience managing commissioning activities rather than solely performing field execution., • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders across parallel project sites., • Experience managing third-party commissioning agents or EPC-led commissioning efforts., • Familiarity with grid-forming and grid-following inverter-based resources., • Strong program-level planning and organizational skills., • Clear communicator capable of aligning internal teams, vendors, and utilities., • Proactive problem solver with a systems-level mindset., • Comfortable operating in a matrixed, fast-paced project environment., • Understanding of onsite power generation, including parallel operation with the utility bus as well as with other DERs, both in grid parallel mode and island mode operations., • Solid understanding of the utility side of the interconnection., • Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, control narratives, protection schemes, and network architectures., • Willingness to travel selectively to project sites for key commissioning milestones.

Role Overview: The Project Development Lead is responsible for the development of utility-scale renewable energy-powered generation projects from the project identification stage through financial closing and start of construction. This role will be focused on EDPR’s New York portfolio of early to late-stage development projects including wind farms, solar parks, battery storage facilities and repowering of our existing wind energy fleet. What You Will Be Doing: • Responsible for local state, federal, and regional permitting of utility-scale wind farms and solar parks, • Oversee the preparation of proposals that are submitted to potential commercial off-takers, • Obtain land rights to design, permit, construct, operate, and maintain wind, solar and battery storage projects, • Negotiate and establish local agreements that address tax abatement, Road Use and Decommissioning, • Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders, including elected officials, regulators, utilities, RTOs, and community leaders, to support project development, • Participate in policy outreach efforts to government officials regarding renewable energy industry issues, • Monitor interconnection studies performed by transmission providers and third parties and participate in interconnection agreement negotiations, • Manage the environmental study and permitting process, • Develop project budgets and support the financial analysis and modeling of the project, • Work with internal resources, such as the Legal, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Investment Analysis and Energy Assessment teams, • Manage external contractors supporting our portfolio of projects, • Provide reports to management by producing regular and frequent project updates, • Research energy market and competition on an ongoing basis, • Communicate information continuously and effectively to cross-functional team, • Additional duties as required Direct reports: None; individual contributor Travel: 50% Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Public Policy, Environmental Science, Communications, or a related field, • 5+ years of progressively responsible project management experience in energy or a related industry, • Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products preferred.
