Job Description Director of Mitigation & Head of Reconstruction - Dual Leadership Opportunity QUICK OVERVIEW - TL;DR (please read this section to ensure your fit before applying) Paul Davis of New York/New Jersey is hiring for TWO critical leadership roles that will define the future of our growing restoration franchise: Director of Mitigation and Head of Reconstruction. We're seeking exceptional candidates who may be a fit for either role - or rare unicorns who could potentially excel in both. THE WHO: Paul Davis of Metro NY/NJ is an ambitious, high-growth restoration franchise operating in two of the largest markets in the Paul Davis network - Queens, NY and Carlstadt, NJ. With nearly 400 locations across the US and Canada, Paul Davis has served communities for over 50 years, and our franchise is positioned to become one of the top revenue-generating locations in the entire network. THE WHAT: These aren't traditional management roles - they're "build" mandates. You'll architect the operational future of multi-million dollar business units from the ground up. The Director of Mitigation will build scalable systems for our emergency response and water damage mitigation operations across both locations. The Head of Reconstruction will seize our massive commercial opportunity and build the reconstruction engine that transforms property damage into community restoration. MUST HAVES: We need true "Optimizers" - not just operators. You've mastered the field-level expertise but think like a systems engineer. You build processes, develop people, and create scalability engines rather than just managing chaos. Whether you're coming from IICRC-certified restoration work or commercial construction management, you must have P&L responsibility, team leadership experience, and the entrepreneurial DNA to build something lasting. THE WHY: This is restoration work with true purpose. When disaster strikes - floods, fires, storms, emergencies - we're the ones who get families back in their homes and businesses back open. Every project has meaning, every system you build serves the community, and every person you develop becomes part of a mission that matters. THE WHERE: Based across our Queens, NY and Carlstadt, NJ locations. Candidates must be within the greater New York/New Jersey metropolitan area or willing to relocate. These are field-first leadership roles requiring regular on-site presence and the ability to respond to emergencies when communities need us most. THE HOW - Director of Mitigation: Three key strategic initiatives await you: • Systems Architecture: Build and implement standardized operational processes across both NY and NJ locations to ensure consistent profitability and quality as we scale., • Talent Development Engine: Create comprehensive training programs that transform technicians and PMs into A-players, building the human capital for aggressive growth., • Commercial Market Domination: Lead initiatives to capture and flawlessly execute large commercial reconstruction projects, establishing us as the premier partner in the region., • Scalable Operations Build: Implement systems, processes, and quality standards that enable consistent delivery and profitability across multiple project types and locations. THE COMPANY & TEAM Paul Davis of Metro NY/NJ operates in one of the most demanding and lucrative restoration markets in North America. We serve all five boroughs of NYC and key counties in New Jersey - a territory that represents millions of residents and thousands of businesses who depend on us when disaster strikes. This isn't your typical franchise operation. Our leadership team brings private equity and business development expertise to an industry traditionally run on instinct. A CAREER-DEFINING OPPORTUNITY FOR MOTIVATED, STRATEGIC & VISIONARY LEADERS YOUR DNA You are a "Scalability Architect" - someone who has transcended daily operations to become a systems thinker. You understand that sustainable success isn't built on personal heroics but on the quality of systems, depth of training, and consistency of processes you implement. You come to the executive table with insight, intelligence, strategy, confidence, and strong direction. You don't need to be the loudest or smartest person in the room, but you do need to lead with conviction, poise, accountability, and moxie. You bring a "Field General" mentality - thriving in hands-on environments, coaching in the trenches, and leading by example. You're equally comfortable with a moisture meter and a P&L statement, a construction site and a boardroom presentation. You are intrinsically motivated by building something that lasts. You want to point to a department, a team, a process and say "I built that." You're not just looking for your next job - you're looking for your legacy project. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and "think like an owner" mindset. You see the connection between your daily decisions and long-term business success. You're motivated by ownership economics, not just a paycheck. You're frustrated by bureaucracy and energized by autonomy. You've likely hit a ceiling at a larger organization or outgrown a smaller one. You're running TOWARDS impact, not just away from your current situation.
