Job DescriptionTax Analyst Essential Functions We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Analyst to manage and optimize client and company tax processes across multiple U.S. jurisdictions. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, supporting tax recovery initiatives, and driving process improvements in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. tax laws, excellent project management skills, and the ability to build productive relationships with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Documentation • Maintain and update tax exemption and compliance documentation for multiple entities across various jurisdictions., • Ensure accurate application of federal, state, and local tax laws, including exemptions and credits., • Monitor changes in tax legislation to identify potential impacts on business operations.Tax Recovery & Analysis, • Lead initiatives to recover overpaid taxes or secure eligible tax exemptions., • Conduct detailed tax analyses to identify opportunities for refunds, credits, and cost savings., • Develop and manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications., • Track and report on project progress, financial outcomes, and compliance trends.Client & Stakeholder Communication, • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams on tax compliance and exemption matters., • Collaborate with departments such as Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Legal to ensure alignment on tax strategies and reporting., • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on tax requirements and best practices.Reporting & Process Improvement, • Prepare and deliver regular reports on tax recovery progress, compliance metrics, and financial impacts., • Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes, improve compliance, and reduce tax exposure., • Contribute to the development of internal policies and controls that enhance tax efficiency and accuracy.Required Skills, Education, and Experience Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field., • 5+ years of experience in tax analysis, compliance, or project management., • Experience working with multi-jurisdictional tax regulations or exemption processes preferred., • Project management certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP) is a plus but not required.Skills and Competencies, • Strong knowledge of U.S. tax laws and regulations (sales, use, income, or property tax)., • Proven experience managing tax-related projects from planning through implementation., • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships across multiple teams and clients., • High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities., • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, or MS Project)., • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
