Your new role We are seeking a Solutions Architect with strong technical, consultative, and presentation skills to support pre-sales activities for Dimensions and Metaphactory. This role focuses on helping Government, Funder, and Non-profit clients understand how our knowledge graph and research intelligence solutions can address their complex analytical, workflow, and data integration needs. As a key member of the pre-sales team, you will translate customer requirements into technical solutions, design and deliver tailored demonstrations, support RFX responses, and collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Delivery teams. You will combine technical proficiency with the ability to tell clear solution stories, enabling clients to envision the value of our products in their strategic and operational environments. This is a highly collaborative and client-facing role, ideal for someone who enjoys designing solutions, presenting technology, and shaping how organizations use data and knowledge graphs to make evidence-based decisions. What you’ll be doing Client Discovery & Needs Assessment • Engage with prospective Government, Funder, and Non-profit customers to understand their strategic goals, data challenges, and functional requirements., • Map customer needs onto technical capabilities across Dimensions, Metaphactory’s semantic knowledge graph platform, and other Digital Science solutions., • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for diverse audiences., • Design tailored solution architectures including data flows, semantic models (ontologies and vocabularies), integration strategies, dashboards, and knowledge graph–based applications., • Build and present custom demos using Dimensions data, metaphactory low-code tools, and relevant APIs or semantic models., • Serve as the technical counterpart to Sales, supporting all stages of the pre-sales cycle., • Provide subject matter expertise on Dimensions solutions, including the web application, dashboards, APIs, and also Digital Science semantic technologies, and customer use cases., • Assist with scoping, effort estimates, and defining service components for proposed solutions., • Lead the technical components of proposals, tenders, and RFX responses., • Collaborate with Delivery and Technical Services colleagues to modify or draft Statements of Work (SoWs), ensuring accurate service descriptions and alignment with client expectations., • Deliver compelling live demonstrations, webinars, workshops, and technical deep dives., • Provide training and enablement sessions to help clients understand product capabilities and best practices., • Build trust through clear communication, confidence in technical details, and thoughtful engagement with client questions., • Transform and integrate customer data into demo scenarios, • Partner closely with Solutions Specialists, Delivery teams, Product Managers, and Engineering teams to ensure seamless handoff from pre-sales to implementation., • Identify opportunities for enhanced or custom solutions and signal when to involve consulting teams., • Maintain and share insights about market trends and client needs., • Represent Digital Science at industry conferences, trade shows, and community events when requested by Sales or Marketing., • Demonstrated experience in pre-sales engineering, technical consulting, or similar client-facing technical roles., • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to design and present compelling demos and solution narratives., • Familiarity with semantic web technologies (RDF, SPARQL, OWL, SHACL) and graph databases., • Experience with basic web technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS) and low-code environments for prototyping demo applications., • Ability to design integration workflows using APIs, research data sources, or cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)., • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities., • Proven ability to collaborate with Sales teams and manage multiple pre-sales engagements., • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.Preferred qualifications, • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline., • Experience working with research organizations, funding agencies, or public sector clients., • Knowledge of Dimensions, Altmetric, or other research intelligence tools., • Experience building semantic applications or visualizations using knowledge graph platforms.
