American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Interventional Radiology for a travel nursing job in Bakersfield, California. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Interventional Radiology, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, days, • Position is in the Interventional Radiology (IR) unit within an acute care hospital, • Typical cases include biopsies, drainages, angiography, angioplasty, embolizations, gastrostomy tubes, cryoablation, and catheter or line placements, • Day shift, 10-hour shifts with rotating call on evenings, nights, and weekends, • Work every other weekend and cover at least one major and one minor holiday during the contract, • Single suite/lab with average daily case volume that varies, • Floating to nearby campus (Mercy Southwest, approximately 6.5 miles away) may be required, • EMR systems used are Cerner, Radnet, and Merge Unity, • Assist interventional radiologists with minimally invasive procedures and patient positioning, • Travel to other imaging modalities such as CT and Ultrasound to assist physicians as needed, • Comprehensive orientation provided by Lead RN, lasting at least one week, • Navy surgical scrubs are provided by the hospital, • First to float policy applies to travelers, • Candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year in any capacity except through an outside agency, • Holiday coverage and rotating call are required throughout the assignment\n \n Requirements\n, • Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration, • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required, • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN, with previous IR experience preferred, • Ability to pass Procedural Sedation competency and EKG exam, • Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes, • Must provide two professional references: one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer reference from the past 3 years, • Copy of driver's license required for consideration\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
