Job Description Job Title: Surgical Technologist – Outpatient Department/Unit: Operating Room (OR) Location: White Plains, NY Schedules Available Full Time | Day • Monday–Friday, • 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, • Monday–Friday, • 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, • Minimum of 2 shifts per month, • 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (variable schedule) Position Summary Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, or Registered Professional Nurse, the Surgical Technologist – Outpatient is responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field during ambulatory surgical procedures. This role requires anticipating the needs of the surgical team, ensuring proper handling of instruments and supplies, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and sterile technique in the Operating Room. Essential Functions & Responsibilities • Prepares the operating room by checking supplies, instruments, and equipment prior to procedures, • Performs aseptic hand scrub and sets up sterile fields, • Maintains strict sterile technique throughout procedures, • Anticipates surgeon needs and assists intra-operatively, • Performs surgical counts and handles specimens appropriately, • Assists with post-procedure patient care, • Prepares instruments for decontamination and sterilization, • Assists with OR case preparation, • Adheres to infection control, fire safety, and patient safety policies, • Responds appropriately to emergency situations, • Completes competency requirements and mandatory education, • Utilizes cost containment practices, • Performs all other related duties as assigned Education & Experience Requirements • High School Diploma or GED required, • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience per NYS law, • Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred Certifications • Certification by a nationally accredited Surgical Technologist credentialing organization required, • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required Compensation and Benefits • Hourly Rate: $35.00 – $52.00 per hour, • Full suite of benefits and retirement plan Apply now to join a high-quality outpatient Operating Room team as a Direct Hire Surgical Technologist.
