Job Description In this multi-faceted role your diverse responsibilities will include troubleshooting, repair and maintaining mechanical components of production machines and equipment and performing general maintenance of the facility. This position requires a strong aptitude in the trade practices associated with occupations such as millwright, machinist, carpenter, mason, plumber, electrician, electronics repair, welder, painter, and other related trades. The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role within the company and will help ensure the plant’s machinery and facility is running smoothly. Location: Mount Vernon, NY Pay: $26–$31/hour Responsibilities • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on production equipment, • Perform preventive maintenance and inspect machinery performance, • Respond to production maintenance needs in a timely manner, • Collaborate with engineers/operators to resolve issues and improve processes, • Complete general facility maintenance (light electrical, plumbing, carpentry), • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Qualifications • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, • Experience in manufacturing or machine maintenance preferred, • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and manuals, • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask, • Team player with ability to work independently, • High school diploma or equivalent; basic computer skills Physical Requirements • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift as needed, • Hands-on work requiring tools and manual dexterityCompany DescriptionSigmund Cohn is a leader in precision engineering and manufacturing, delivering innovative solutions that combine technical expertise with exceptional quality.
