Job Description Job Title: Quality Control Inspector (CWI) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee the mechanical scope on a significant construction project in Tarrytown, NY. This $80M project involves HVAC, process piping, utilities, and GMP-controlled environments for laboratories and preclinical manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities • Lead and manage all mechanical quality control activities for field operations., • Ensure compliance with quality standards, GMP requirements, and approved contract documents., • Perform inspections of carbon steel and stainless steel welding according to ASME B31 codes., • Oversee valve installations, tagging, and conduct pressure testing, flushing, and system testing., • Coordinate and witness testing activities, including HCA documentation., • Conduct field walkdowns using Procore, verifying installation against P&IDs and approved drawings., • Ensure accuracy and maintenance of P&IDs, including updates throughout construction., • Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to develop and maintain valve tagging systems., • Oversee material inspection and traceability, including MTRs, heat numbers, and IMER reports., • Manage welding quality, coordinate weld inspections, NDE/NDT testing, welder qualifications, and daily weld coupon reviews., • Utilize Bluebeam Studio for drawing review, markups, and collaboration., • Support and manage digital welding inspection tools and custom-built QC applications., • Enforce Good Documentation Practices (GDP) using Procore, SharePoint, Microsoft tools, Bluebeam, and spreadsheets., • Lead preparation of Turnover Packages (CTOP/TOP), including pressure testing, weld records, material traceability, and closeout commissioning activities., • Act as the primary quality liaison with project management, inspectors, and commissioning teams. Essential Skills • QC experience in mechanical construction, preferably in biopharma or life sciences., • Strong knowledge of ASME B31 codes, hygienic piping, and GMP environments., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and SharePoint., • Experience with Procore for inspections, walkdowns, and documentation control., • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Bluebeam Studio., • Experience with digital welding inspection tools or custom-built QC apps., • Ability to manage welding inspection, material control, and turnover documentation., • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Tarrytown, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
