Job DescriptionWe are seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate, and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality medical care and support to our patients while working closely with veterinarians and support staff. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a deep commitment to animal health and client service. Responsibilities: • Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care, including physical exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures., • Perform advanced technical duties such as venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia induction and monitoring, dental prophylaxis, radiology, and lab sample collection and analysis., • Accurately document medical records, treatment plans, and patient progress., • Monitor and care for hospitalized patients, including administering medications, fluid therapy, feeding, and providing enrichment., • Prepare and maintain surgical suites, sterile instruments, and assist during surgeries with appropriate aseptic technique., • Assist in dental cleanings, including ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and dental charting (as allowed by state regulations)., • Take and process diagnostic radiographs in accordance with safety protocols., • Provide client education and discharge instructions regarding post-op care, medications, and preventative health care., • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area and hospital environment., • Assist in inventory management and communicate supply needs to the team., • Support the training and mentorship of veterinary assistants and new team members as needed. Qualifications: • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, LVT, RVT) preferred or equivalent experience in a clinical setting., • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary technician role strongly preferred., • Proficiency in animal handling, restraint, and technical skills such as IV catheter placement, lab work, and anesthetic monitoring., • Solid understanding of veterinary medical terminology, pharmacology, and routine procedures., • Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing patient care., • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills., • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds and stand for extended periods., • Reliable, punctual, and dedicated to high standards of patient and client care., • A passion for animal health and well-being.*The starting pay for this position is up to $28 per hour. Candidates with significant experience and/or certification may be considered for compensation up to $35 per hour.
