Summary As a Registered Nurse (RN) for our substance abuse/mental health treatment facility, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals on their journey to recovery from substance abuse. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing nursing care, medication management, and support to individuals undergoing substance abuse treatment. Schedule Availability • Administer nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures., • Conduct health assessments and monitor the physical and mental well-being of clients., • Administer medications and monitor their effectiveness., • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans., • Educate clients on health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment options., • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records., • Expertly monitor and treat severe withdrawal symptoms (alcohol, opioids, etc.)., • Accurately track and respond to patient vital signs and physical status changes., • Safely administer detox medications, including MAT (e.g., buprenorphine, naltrexone)., • Know the signs of overdose and be ready to perform life-saving interventions (like giving naloxone)., • De-escalate and manage agitated or confused patients safely., • Provide non-judgmental, compassionate care to build patient trust., • Assess for co-occurring mental health issues (anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation)., • Teach patients about addiction, medications, and recovery resources., • Collaborate effectively with counselors, doctors, and support staff., • Valid RN license to practice in state of New Jersey., • Previous experience in a substance abuse treatment facility is preferred., • Knowledge of addiction medicine and treatment protocols., • Strong clinical and assessment skills., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
