Position Summary The Mortgage Sales Manager is responsible for driving residential mortgage growth through a combination of personal loan production and effective leadership of a team of Mortgage Loan Originators. This role balances hands‑on origination with recruiting, coaching, and developing a high‑performing sales team that delivers strong production results, exceptional member experiences, and consistent loan quality. The manager actively builds and maintains external referral relationships, collaborates with internal stakeholders, and ensures strict adherence to all regulatory, credit union, and CUSO policies. As a leader within the organization, the Mortgage Sales Manager is expected to model and reinforce the credit union’s Core Values while fostering a positive and performance‑driven sales culture aligned with the credit union’s mission and long‑term growth objectives. Is willing to learn and improve performance., • Maintain personal mortgage production by originating residential loans while meeting individual volume, revenue, and quality expectations., • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Mortgage Consultants (MCs) to achieve production, revenue, and service goals. Fosters a collaborative and high achieving team environment., • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain high‑performing mortgage originators in alignment with credit union growth strategies., • Establish, expand, and actively participate in business development efforts, including realtor, builder, financial advisor, and community referral relationships., • Manage sales efforts, oversee pipeline activity, and monitor key performance metrics such as volume, pull‑through, cycle time, and customer experience., • Provide ongoing sales coaching, call modeling, training, and performance feedback to improve individual and team effectiveness., • Ensure personal and team adherence to federal, state, investor, and institutional compliance requirements, including NMLS standards and underwriting guidelines., • Partner closely with mortgage operations, processing, underwriting, and fulfillment teams to ensure timely closings and high loan quality., • Oversee loan quality, documentation standards, and post‑closing or QC issues, taking corrective action when necessary., • Stay current on mortgage products, pricing, secondary market requirements, competitive trends, and local real estate market conditions., • Promote adoption of new technologies and standardized mortgage processes to improve efficiency and scalability., • Represent the organization professionally in the market, participating in networking, community events, and industry organizations to drive brand presence and growth Remote Work Eligibility Position is fully eligible for a Hybrid Work Arrangement Education High School Diploma required. Certifications from the Mortgage Bankers Association (CMB) or National Association of Mortgage Bankers (CRMS) are preferred but not required. Experience 2–4 years of mortgage origination experience with a demonstrated ability to self-source and close loan volume is required. Experience includes a proven track record of generating business through referral networks, community engagement, and proactive prospecting, while successfully managing a pipeline of diverse loan types and structures. This role requires an established reputation for delivering high-quality member service and the ability to set performance expectations for others, modeling effective networking behaviors, and elevating the production and professionalism of their direct reports.
