Job Description Founding Sales Leader- Home Services Sales Representative BUILD SOMETHING YOURS. You're closing over a million dollars a year for someone else's dream. We're inviting you to build one of your own. WHO THIS IS FOR You've been the engine at a company that sees you as a line item. You've hit your numbers, trained people who got promoted past you, and watched the owners pocket what you built. You know how to sell roofs — and you know it's time to stop making someone else rich. If that lands — keep reading. This role was written for you. Buzzworthy Roofing is a brand-new startup built to scale fast and sell smart. We're looking for our very first sales hire — not a rep, not an order-taker. A founding sales leader who will own the entire revenue function from day one. WE ALREADY HAVE THE PLAYBOOK. Here's something most startups can't say: we're not starting from zero. We have a proven sales playbook built by a $100 million-a-year roofing operator. The process, the systems, the structure — it's already been battle-tested at scale. We don't need someone to figure it out. We need someone who can run the play. That means the right person for this role isn't someone who wants to experiment and theorize. It's someone who sees a proven system and gets fired up to execute it — and execute it better than anyone else could. If you're the kind of leader who can take a winning playbook, install it fast, and build a team around it, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for. THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF: We'd rather be honest upfront than waste your time or ours. Stop reading now if any of these sound like you: You've jumped between 3+ roofing companies in the last 5 years chasing signing bonuses or better base pay You're looking to make fast money and move on — this is a 3 to 5 year journey to a life-changing outcome, not a quick flip You need a manager to set your schedule, hold you accountable, or tell you what to do each morning You're used to a full support staff, an established brand, and a warm pipeline handed to you — and you can't operate without them You think "building a team" means delegating everything you don't want to do You've never actually closed roofing jobs yourself — you manage people who do, and you've forgotten what the field feels like The words "phantom equity" and "long-term upside" don't excite you — you need to see it in your paycheck this Friday There is no shame in any of the above. They're just not who we're building with. THIS IS FOR YOU IF: You're a proven roofing sales leader closing $1M+ a year, and you are done watching ownership get rich while you get a plaque You understand that building something real takes 12 to 36 months of hard, focused work before the big payoff arrives You're the kind of person who reads a winning playbook and thinks I can run this and make it even better You want to own a piece of something — not just a job title You've built teams before, or you're ready to, and you know how to hire people better than yourself You're wired for accountability — you don't make excuses, you make adjustments THE OPPORTUNITY: FIRST IN, FOUNDATION BUILDER This isn't a job posting. It's an invitation to co-build something from the ground up. You'll be the architect of our entire sales operation — installing a proven playbook, building the team around it, and owning the results. Our goal: grow Buzzworthy Roofing to $20M in annual revenue and execute a strategic exit to private equity. When that happens, you won't just be an employee who was there — you'll be someone who made it happen. And you'll be compensated through phantom equity. Day 1: Get in the Trenches — You're selling, prospecting, learning our market. The playbook tells you how. You make it happen. Month 1: Install the Infrastructure — CRM, onboarding process, hiring criteria. The blueprint exists. You're building it out. Month 3+: Grow the Team — Start adding reps. Train them on the system. Lead from the front. $20M Exit: Get Paid — Phantom equity means you share in what this company sells for. You ran the play. You get a piece of the win. COMPENSATION: HOW YOU'LL GET PAID Base + aggressive commission on personal sales Override/team bonus as you build and lead your sales team Phantom equity participation — a real economic stake in the company's eventual PE exit Generous Upside — maximum earning potential, no territory limit, no ceiling Your compensation grows as the company grows. That's the whole point. STOP BUILDING SOMEONE ELSE'S EMPIRE- LET'S BUILD ONE TOGETHER! If you've read this far and it hit differently than a normal job posting — that's because it's not. Send us a short cover letter about where you are, what you've built, and why now is your time. Buzzworthy Roofing is an equal opportunity employer. Compensation details shared upon initial conversation. Phantom equity terms formalized at offer. Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 yearly Responsibilities: • Maintain up-to-date information on our services and products, industry, competition, and market conditions in order to present them to clients and ensure customer needs are met, • Speak to potential customers to introduce our services or new products, • Develop and execute a strategy to generate new customers in your sales territory, • Keep company abreast of new business development opportunities, account status, potential customers, customer needs, and competitive issues using CRM, • Attend online and in-person meetings, trainings, trade shows, and sales events THE ROLE: WHAT YOU'LL OWN Convert company-provided leads with discipline and a high close rate Proactively canvas and prospect when the pipeline needs feeding — storm damage, aging roofs, commercial work Install and execute the proven sales playbook from day one Recruit, hire, and develop a team of reps as we scale Own the entire revenue number — not just your personal quota Report directly to ownership and help shape company growth strategy Know when to delegate and when to get back in the field Qualifications: • CRM experience preferred, • We prefer if you have a bachelor’s degree or high school school diploma, • Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle, • Applicant must have strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, • Proven track record of sales experience, 3-5 years About Company Buzzworthy Roofing is a tech-focused residential roofing company based in Farmingdale, NJ, built with one mission: do roofing the right way and take care of the people who make it great. We're a startup — and we're proud of it. No corporate bureaucracy, no PE mandates, no culture that treats people like numbers. We're building intentionally — with the right people, the right values, and a proven playbook from a $100 million a year roofing operation already in our hands. At Buzzworthy, the people who help build this company should benefit from what it becomes. That's baked into how we compensate, how we promote, and how we treat every person who walks through our door. Bring your best every day — and it will get noticed, rewarded, and remembered. If you're hungry, growth-minded, and tired of giving your best to a company that doesn't give it back — come build something buzzworthy with us.
