Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Food and beverage supervisors are generally responsible for all of the business operations of a dining establishment. · Duties typically include training, scheduling and managing employees as overseeing inventory, including food and beverages, supplies and other restaurant equipment. · Supervisors are also responsible for resolving customer complaints regarding food quality and service and making sure the business complies with health and food safety regulations. • Supervisors also oversee food preparation, food storage and dining areas, ensuring that the facility remains in compliance with safety regulation and health codes., • In addition, they often have responsibility for the management of incoming funds and accounts payable. Qualification Requirements To successfully perform the duties of a food and beverage supervisor, individuals must possess a drive to provide exceptional customer service. Supervisors must be reliable and self-motivated. They must be excellent communicators to manage a team in a high-volume environment and carry out multiple tasks at the same time. Additionally, a degree of physical fitness is required, as many supervisors stand for long periods of time and lift heavy items. Education and/or Experience: While a four-year degree is not mandatory to land a food and beverage supervisor position, many employers prefer applicants that have a college education in hospitality management, food services management or a related field. Special Qualifications: Incumbent must be able to assist the Manager in as many ways as possible to make the restaurant run as smoothly as possible. Language Skills: Associate needs to be able to speak, write and read English, and Spanish would be a plus. Mathematical Skills: The ability to add and subtract Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Incumbent needs to have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
