This free afterschool program serves students in grades 4–5 at Mamaroneck Avenue School (MAS), a Title I school where more than half of students are economically disadvantaged, 19% are English Language Learners, and 20% are students with disabilities. The program combines homework help, executive functioning skill-building, and supportive enrichment in a safe, structured setting. Novella Prep, a Rye-based education services organization specializing in executive functioning, study skills, and curriculum design, provides the program curriculum, pre-service training, and ongoing coaching. Novella Prep motivates and teaches students how to achieve their academic potential, empowering students from the inside out with core skills and strategies that foster long-term academic and personal success. The Rye YMCA delivers staffing, program management, and family engagement, and administers all hiring and payroll for this position. Position Overview The Rye YMCA is hiring two teachers to lead daily afterschool sessions at Mamaroneck Avenue School. Teachers deliver Novella Prep's executive functioning curriculum — organization, time management, planning, and self-regulation — embedded in daily homework support, serving two cohorts of 60 students in grades 4–5 (one cohort per semester, with a monthly check-in session for the off-semester cohort).
