    Full-time
    Mott Haven, The Bronx

We started Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in a yellow truck on the streets of NYC in 2008 with a mission to make good ice cream that makes you feel good. Nowadays, people can spend so much time on what's "healthy" they don't stop to consider what's healthy. As far as we're concerned, happiness is healthiness. We strive to ensure every scoop, store and employee feels and creates one community to contribute to the overall brand. Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Logistics & Inventory Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team. As we continue to scale our CPG business across retail channels nationwide, this role is critical to ensuring our products move efficiently, on time, and on budget from our production facility to distributors, retail partners, and DTC fulfillment centers. Beyond freight, this role owns CPG inventory management end to end, weeks of supply (WOS) tracking, on-time-in-full (OTIF) performance at retailers, and inventory transfers across our 3PL network and supports our scoop shop business through 3PL inventory management, intercompany freight coordination, and logistics cost management and controls. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role sitting at the intersection of operations, vendor management, and customer service. You'll work closely with our production, sales, and finance teams to coordinate domestic freight movements, manage carrier relationships, manage inventory health across our distributor and 3PL network, and help build the logistics infrastructure that supports Van Leeuwen's next stage of growth. This role will be based out of our Bronx office and follow Van Leeuwen's Hybrid work model and be in office at least two to three days a week. ABOUT LIGHT SWITCH Light Switch is a neighborhood coffee and bar concept in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. We run as a specialty coffee counter during the day and transition into a warm, craft beer, wine-and-spritz social space in the evenings. Same team, same room, different energy. We are small, intentional, and care deeply about how people feel when they walk through our door — and when they leave. THE ROLE Lead Hosts are the backbone of Light Switch. You will anchor shifts across both sides of the day, dialing in espresso in the morning and running beverage service in the evening — while setting the standard for the team around you. You have worked with coffee as well as experienced in night time hospitality and comfortable making drinks, serving tables and running a busy evening floor. But beyond the craft, you are the kind of person who genuinely lights up when a guest walks in. You remember names. You make people feel welcome without being performative about it. You bring a positive energy to the shift that the whole team feels — and you hold that standard even when it is busy, even at the end of a long day. In Year 1, you will work closely with the owners and help shape what Light Switch feels like to work in and to visit. WHAT YOU WILL DO • Give every guest a genuine, warm welcome — and mean it every time, • Open or close the space and execute full setup and breakdown for coffee or evening service, • Dial in espresso, prepare filter and batch coffee, and maintain equipment to specialty standards, • Run evening beverage service: beer, wine, spritzes, and low-ABV offerings, • Train and support Hospitality Hosts on coffee standards, technique, and on-the-job skills, • Hold the floor during your shift — keeping pace, quality, and energy where they need to be, • Support food handoffs and light assembly during busy periods, • Keep the space clean, compliant, and welcoming from open to close WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR • A natural with people — warm, present, and genuinely happy to be there. Guests should feel it the moment they walk in, • The kind of person who brings positivity to a team without being told to — your energy sets the tone for the shift, • Trained barista with 2+ years of specialty coffee experience — you know how to dial in, and you can teach others to do the same, • Comfortable behind a bar: beer and wine knowledge, genuine hospitality instincts, • A natural at on-the-job coaching — patient, clear, and consistent with standards, • Calm under pressure and able to hold a shift without micromanaging, • Reliable, detail-oriented, and energized by helping build something from the ground up, • Available for some evening and weekend shifts, • NYC Food Handler Certification (or willing to obtain before start date)
