For more information about CT State Community College and the campus please visit Home - CT State Position DetailsPosted: February 9, 2026 Level: Assistant Professor, Clinical Coordinator Employment Type: Standard, tenure track position Hours: Full-time, 10-month (30 credit hours per academic year) Anticipated Start Date: Fall 2026 Semester Work Location: CT State Norwalk 188 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854 Work Modality: On site; Position is not remote Closing Date: Open until filled, with priority consideration given to applicants who submit materials by March 4, 2026Position Summary All Teaching Faculty members shall: Prepare and teach college-approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules, including developing syllabi and reading lists and keeping each course taught complete and up to date; respond to and work with multiple constituencies, including students, peers (faculty and staff), and external agencies (business, community, educational, etc.); perform divisional departmental responsibilities in the selection of texts and related teaching resources; and other teaching and related duties as outlined on the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Under the direction of the Dean, Department Chair, or other administrator, the Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching thirty (30) credit hours per academic year and delivering a range of courses within the assigned discipline. Courses may be offered in lecture, hybrid, and/or online formats, and teaching schedules may include both day and evening classes. Key responsibilities include: • Teaching courses within the assigned discipline area in accordance with institutional standards, • Evaluating and assessing student learning outcomes, • Providing student support, mentoring, and academic advising, • Developing curriculum and periodically reviewing and updating instructional materials, • Assisting with program reviews and accreditation-related activities, • Planning and executing program-related events, • Administer the clinical practicum for assigned students within the discipline, • Provide clinical instruction and document evaluation and performance progress toward clinical competence, • Coordinate and evaluate students’ clinical experiences, • Advise students regarding clinical and academic requirements, • Administer and enforce existing program policies, • Conduct student recruitment and orientation activities, • Provide clinical and academic instruction to students enrolled in the program, • Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies, • Service on assigned committees and task forces Successful Candidate must have or must possess: • Active, unencumbered PT license or PTA license/certification, • Three (3) years of full-time, post-licensure clinical practice, • Two years of clinical practice experience must include experience as a site coordinator of clinical education or clinical instructor in physical therapy; OR have a minimum of two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a physical therapy education program., • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities, • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)Preferred Qualifications, • Master’s degree or higher in physical therapy or related field (i.e., kinesiology), • Experience teaching courses in a physical therapist assistant curriculum, • Clinical expertise in musculoskeletal or neurological physical therapy care, • Experience using technology to enhance the learning environment, e.g., Blackboard, online instruction or other modalities/software.Salary and Benefits, • Generous leave policies, • Multiple retirement plan options, • Comprehensive health insurance choices, • Supplemental benefits for retirement and family protection, • A cover letter Important Notes: • Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be considered, • Links to external resume sites are not accepted, • CT State Community College cannot sponsor work visas The selection process may include interviews and practical exercises (e.g., written, technical, or simulation exercises).
