Job DescriptionFacilities Maintenance Technician Pay: $28–$35 per hour (DOE) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Employment Type: Permanent Location: Field-based | Multiple commercial sites (company vehicle provided) About the Role We are seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing operation, maintenance, and repair of multiple commercial facilities. This hands-on role focuses on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems, ensuring facilities remain safe, reliable, and fully operational. The position a consistent weekday shift, and the opportunity to work across a range of building systems that support long-term professional growth. What You’ll Do • Perform preventive maintenance and complete repair work orders on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical building systems, • Maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems and associated equipment, • Perform basic electrical and plumbing repairs, including work on distribution equipment and fixtures, • Complete interior and exterior building repairs, including basic drywall and general maintenance tasks, • Support grounds-related maintenance as required for assigned facilities, • Conduct facility inspections and due diligence, documenting issues that may impact safety or operations, • Prepare clear summary reports with findings and recommended corrective actions for management, • Learn and operate building equipment, including building automation systems and fire/life safety systems, • Respond promptly and effectively to building-related emergencies, • Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with all safety procedures, • Identify safety hazards and recommend corrective or preventive measures, • Participate in after-hours, on-call, or call-out coverage as needed, • Travel between multiple sites within the assigned region to support maintenance activitiesPreferred Skills & Experience, • Facilities or building maintenance experience with hands-on responsibility for building systems, • Minimum 2 years of HVAC experience (commercial HVAC troubleshooting preferred), • Ability to perform HVAC maintenance, repairs, and basic diagnostics, • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical building systems, • Basic drywall, carpentry, and general building repair skills, • Familiarity with machines, tools, and maintenance practices, • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, • Strong attention to detail in inspections, documentation, and work orders, • Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, • Strong communication skills with team members, management, and occupants, • Willingness to participate in on-call and after-hours support, • Commitment to safety practices and hazard awarenessPreferred Qualifications, • EPA Certification, • Commercial HVAC experience, • Familiarity with fire and life safety systems, • Experience with building automation or control systems, • Ability to write professional maintenance summaries and recommendations, • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites, including locations up to ~85 miles from AlbanyWhy Join Our Team?, • Competitive pay: $28–$35/hour, based on experience, • Consistent weekday schedule with work-life balance, • Company vehicle provided for port-to-port travel, • Contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term stability, • Exposure to a variety of commercial facilities and building systems Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
