Tool & Die Maker – Manufacturing Location: Trenton, NJ Schedule: 2nd Shift – Mon–Fri | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM 3rd Shift – Sun–Thurs | 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM Pay Rate: $34.25/hour DIRECT HIRE! PrideNow, the light industrial staffing division of Pride Global, is hiring on behalf of a leading manufacturing company. We are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to support complex tooling, stamping operations, and precision machining. This role is critical in maintaining production efficiency through expert fabrication, repair, and maintenance of dies and tooling systems. What You’ll Be Doing: • Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders) to fabricate precision parts, • Build, repair, and maintain dies, jigs, fixtures, and tooling components, • Work with progressive dies, stamping tools, die plates, and die sets, • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators), • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications, • Perform die cutting, forming, fitting, grinding, and polishing operations, • Assemble tooling components including guide pins, bushings, retainers, and gas springs, • Troubleshoot and repair tooling issues to minimize production downtime, • Conduct test runs and make adjustments to ensure tooling meets specifications, • Select appropriate metals and materials based on application requirements, • Maintain tooling performance through preventative maintenance and adjustments, • Document work, communicate issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives, • Train and support apprentices as needed, • Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification or 10+ years of hands-on experience, • Strong experience with stamping, progressive dies, and tooling systems, • Expertise in manual machining and fabrication of tooling components, • Experience with lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders, • Strong understanding of die sets, shoes, guide pins, bushings, and related components, • Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances and dimensions, • Experience with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques, • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills, • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, • Experience with CMMS or maintenance systems (preferred), • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and handle heavy tooling components, • Frequent standing, bending, and working with machinery, • Exposure to manufacturing environment, noise, and moving equipment, • Direct hire opportunity with long-term stability, • Competitive hourly pay with consistent schedule, • Work in a high-precision manufacturing environment, • Opportunity to work on complex tooling and advanced machining processes Pride Global offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k) retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto and home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
