Job DescriptionSalary: Reports To VP of Business Development Manages None Summary/Objective Synergis approach to business development and sales is analytical, efficient and collaborative making it the industry leader in the pursuit of prestigious and complex feature stairs nationwide. The Senior Business Development Associate at Synergi develops opportunity leads for feature and interconnecting stair projects for tenant interiors and core and shell projects. The position builds, tracks and manages a CRM database of industry contacts, project leads and customers. The Business Development Associate gathers information through desk research, leads provided to them by other team members and outreach to architects/general contractors/owners reps/owners to fulfil the required criteria to graduate a lead from Stage 1 to Stage 2 through a Gateway discussion with the VP of BD covering their region. The Senior Business Development Associate will continue to support the VP of BD as they gather the required information to hold a Go / No Go meeting with the Director of Client Relations. During this time the BD Associate will set meetings, help with research, support at networking/social events etc. This role is very collaborative with numerous other Synergi departments. It is beneficial to the BD Associate to rely heavily on and collaborate closely with their colleagues to leverage existing relationships as much as possible as this will be a strong contributor to success. Primary Responsibilities/Functions • Senior Business Development Associates have mastered lead generation and development and are largely autonomous in their lead finding activities., • Senior Business Development Associates attend presentations and begin to present as part of a group developing into individually led presentations., • Senior Business Development Associates are accountable to hitting key company metrics such as target size of project, geography, sector and end user., • Find leads using desk research, developing a system to regularly check sources such as trade journals, news articles, local building authority websites, permit searches, social media (LinkedIn, Twitter), networking relationships, etc and collaborating with other members of the team to ascertain any existing relationships that could be leveraged for further information., • Triage leads for suitability that are fed to them by other team members outreach activity and invitations to bid and work to qualify those leads for Gateway handover., • Research the lead to complete the required information required for the lead gateway through desk research and limited outreach to architects/clients/GCs/networking relationships to gain understanding of the stakeholders involved in the project. When reaching out to architects/clients/GCs consult with VP of BD to ensure that reach out may not be detrimental to future BD development if reaching out to people other than receptionists/librarians., • Senior Business Development Associate will fill out the Gateway checklist and present each lead to VP of BD prior to a lead moving from Stage 1 to Stage 2 and on agreement that the lead meets the criteria and makes sense for the business to pursue the lead can graduate to Stage 2. BD Associate generates a crime board of the key stakeholders on the project for presentation at the gateway handover., • Continuously monitor and update opportunities in Stage 0 and Stage 1 in Salesforce and support VP of BD where needed in Stages 2 and 3. Key criteria to keep accurate are project amount, start date and end date of the project., • Support VP of BD's outreach by finding contact numbers, booking lunch and learns, making phone calls on their behalf etc., • Assist where required with any necessary prequalification paperwork, non-disclosure agreements, etc as required by new clients., • Expected to manage workload to produce in-depth strategies for the next steps for all leads., • Maintain a deep professional network of industry contacts. This should include those in related industries that are chasing project types similar to Synergi., • Develop experience and gut feel of a good lead and what the red flags are minimizing unsuccessful gateway handovers, • Collaborate with the wider team in huddles, daily meetings, drilldowns to develop not only your own teams opportunities but those of other territory teams. Cross pollinate ideas and potential clients with other territory teams., • Support the BD Drilldown and daily meetings by taking notes and circulating to the team., • Assist VP of BD with proposal/presentation creation working closely with the Marketing department., • Attend industry networking events where directed by VP of BD., • Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed., • Attend training programs as required., • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes. Goals KPIs • Work with VP of BD to achieve a set number of Go/ No Go handovers per quarter from Stage 3 to State 4, • Work with VP of BD to set 10 appointments per week covering networking and project specific meetings, • Maintain the required number of leads in Stage 1 to meet the minimum required total contract amount in State 1 as specified in BD meetings by maintaining a cadence of Gateway handovers to achieve this. Performance is monitored through KPI's weekly sales meetings, and scheduled reviews with management. Quarterly Go/ No Go hand over targets is set to promote collaboration with the VP of BD. Implementation Goals: Implement organized and continuing best practices and analyze existing procedures to shorten lead development time, increase lead pipeline and hold to customer service. Required Skills/Attributes • Organized, • Tenacious, • Self-starter, • Collaborative and team player Required Education/Experience • Bachelors Degree or Higher in Construction Management and/or Architecture is beneficial but not required, • Business development, marketing or sales experience preferred, • Construction or similar industry experience preferred, • Glazing, steel, ornamental metals or interior finishes experience preferred., • Drafting/blueprint exposure preferred. Required Certifications/Licenses • None Work Environment This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing some of the duties of this job, the employee may be required to walk into the shop/warehouse and may be exposed to shop conditions, ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. The employee is required to have a clean workspace in the office. In an instance where the employee is working offsite, at home, at a hotel, etc., the employee is required to have a clean workspace for virtual meetings, internally or externally with clients, vendors, etc. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Position may require remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position (40 hours). Workdays are Monday through Friday, work times are dependent on department, projects, networking events and supervisors request and approval.
