Job Description ABOUT THE ROLE As a Yard Switcher, you will safely and efficiently move trailers within the yard to support warehouse operations. Responsibilities include positioning trailers at dock doors, communicating with warehouse staff, conducting routine inspections of yard equipment and trailers, and reporting any safety or maintenance issues immediately. Adherence to all yard safety procedures and company policies is required. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are essential. HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE • Check with supervisor promptly at the start of the shift for assigned schedule, • Review and communicate truck temperature and fuel logs for accuracy and discrepancies, • Perform safety inspections of the yard horse and trailer according to DOT regulations, • Maintain communication with supervisor on truck rotations via radio or in person, • Conduct inspection of all equipment once parked in the bay to ensure they are chocked securely, • Move trailers in a safe and accurate manner as requested by the manager, • Take reefer container temperature, checks periodically while on shift, • Report any issues on the yard such as traffic obstacles or hazards, accidents etc., • Perform general housekeeping duties in work area as needed, • Attach trailers to "Yard Tractor" and transport to the appropriate loading dock door, • Secure all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift QUALIFICATIONS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO US • Previous yard switcher, yard jockey, or tractor-trailer experience preferred, • Ability to safely maneuver trailers in tight spaces, • Strong understanding of yard safety procedures and safe driving practices, • Ability to communicate effectively with warehouse staff and supervisors, • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, • Basic knowledge of vehicle inspections and reporting maintenance issues, • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, • Ability to work in all weather conditions, • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including climbing in and out of equipment and prolonged sitting WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU • Company Paid Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, • 401(k) with Company Match, • Paid holidays, sick days & vacation, • Employee Referral Bonus Program, • Benefit from a good work life balance, • Personal & professional growth opportunities

Job Overview: The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing yard operations and managing a team of switchers across multiple shifts. This role ensures the safe and efficient movement of trailers within the yard, maintains accurate yard inventory, and supports operational flow through effective communication and system management. The Supervisor plays a key role in enforcing safety standards, optimizing yard processes, and fostering a productive team environment. We have a 3rd shift available for this role. • Ensure all switcher moves are completed safely and in a timely manner to maintain operational efficiency., • Verify that switchers perform all required responsibilities, including pre-trip inspections, fueling, and adherence to scheduled breaks., • Manage attendance, payroll, and scheduling for switchers, including vacation, sick time, and shift coverage., • Maintain clear communication with drivers, dock personnel, shop staff, and other departments to support smooth yard operations., • Conduct regular yard checks and scans during shifts to update trailer locations in Kaleris and monitor equipment condition, reporting any damage or issues promptly., • Oversee the general maintenance and operability of yard horses during assigned shifts., • Monitor Kaleris system performance, making necessary corrections to RFID tags, trailer locations, and other yard management functions., • Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and equipment status to ensure compliance and operational efficiency., • Train and coach switchers on safety protocols, operational procedures, and best practices., • Address and resolve operational issues quickly, escalating concerns when needed., • Prepare shift reports summarizing productivity, equipment status, and any incidents., • Minimum 2–3 years in transportation, yard operations, or logistics supervision., • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in yard management systems (e.g., Kaleris) preferred., • Familiarity with DOT regulations, safety standards, and trailer movement processes., • Continuous Supervision: Frequent walking and standing to monitor yard activities, inspect conditions, and ensure smooth operations., • Manual Handling: Occasional lifting, moving, and carrying of equipment and supplies, potentially up to 50 pounds, for setup or adjustment., • Environmental Conditions: Working outdoors in various weather conditions, overseeing yard operations, and ensuring compliance with safety standards., • Climbing and Reaching: Use of ladders and reaching for equipment or materials as needed for maintenance or operational tasks.
