Certerra is a consulting firm with over 65 years of quality service that offers professional services in the southwestern United States in the fields of geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, construction materials engineering and testing, nondestructive testing, and welding inspection. POSITION TITLE: Project Manager/Estimator: • Plans and manages multiple projects assigned by the Senior Project Manager and may include interoffice projects on a larger, more complicated scale., • Provide leadership, mentoring and training of other staff, • Offers technical guidance, reviews progress and advises procedural changes if required. Provide technical assistance as requested by team., • Provide project management for the entire project. Conduct coordination meetings with each client., • Perform site visits/ field calculations to compensate for change orders, contract estimates to prepare computations and proposals., • Plans alterations and modifications to improve final product., • Receive communications from clients and respond promptly and professionally, • Use computer programs to illustrate project specifications. Estimates costs and work schedules., • Prepares budgets, contracts, and other related financial matters bearing on assigned projects, administers the contracts and controls budgets., • Primarily responsible for profit and loss on all assigned projects., • Prepare monthly billings and progress reports for assigned projects., • Assists with the preparation of proposals. Prepares and presents public reports of analysis, information, technical qualifications and approach at community forums or selection interviews., • Review and analyze structural and civil plans, • Communicate with team members about upcoming deadlines and specific responsibilities, • Attend technical seminars and conferences to increase technical expertise and for marketing purposes., • Performs related duties, special assignments and projects as required and assigned by the Senior Project Management or designee., • Track and log opportunities across multiple databases Education: Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience. Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 years project management / estimating responsibilities and experience (construction materials testing and special inspection related experience preferred) , including general computer expertise. Strong organizational skills along with excellent oral and written communication ability. Physical and Other Requirements: Primarily works in a standard office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus in order to read hand printed materials as well as computer documents. Operation of the following is required: telephone, personal computer including word processing software, and copy machine. Current valid driver's license.
