Nursing Assistants are responsible for working closely with the nurse to provide excellent direct patient care. This person supports activities of daily living (ADL's) with patients and prevents complications. Roles and Responsibilities: • Direct Patient Care- Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output of fluids, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings or changes in the patient's conditions to the RN., • Reinforcing education with patients; i.e. incentive spirometer use, and fall prevention., • Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace., • Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour., • High school or equivalent experience, • NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA), • Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard)., • Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs.
