The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse responsible for delivering safe, competent, and high-quality patient care grounded in nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice. The nurse provides care to a designated group of patients and their significant others while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care., • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans and manage transitions, education, rounding, discharge planning, and delegation., • Model Relationship Centered Care through bedside shift report, purposeful hourly rounding (4 Ps), medication review, and compassionate communication., • Build therapeutic relationships, respect cultural values, address concerns, and escalate issues as needed., • Ensure quality and safety by identifying risks, following compliance standards, documenting accurately, and supporting performance improvement initiatives., • Support unit operations through charge nurse duties, staffing and supply coordination, cost-effective care, and patient throughput., • Demonstrate professionalism through teamwork, ethical practice, shared governance participation, and ongoing professional development. Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, • Associate Degree in Nursing is considered only with relevant experience and active enrollment in a BSN program., • Minimum 2 years RN experience, • Minimum 2 years Stepdown, Telemetry, or Med-Surg experience required, • Cardiology, Telemetry, and VAD experience preferred, • Experience with ventilators, drips, and drains is required (non-negotiable), • NYS RN License, • BLS (AHA), • ACLS (AHA), • EPIC experience highly preferred, • 1 year travel experience required for Travel positions (not required for Per Diem).
