Job Description Founded in 1895, Ardsley Country Club is one of the country's oldest and most distinguished private clubs. Ardsley has an outstanding youth activities program, a magnificent golf course, an excellent dining experience, and incredible views of the Hudson River. The club is very family-oriented and has a diverse membership. We are currently looking for a Pool Director for the 2026 season. The Pool Director reports to the General Manager. General Purpose: Supervises lifeguards the safety and cleanliness of the swimming pools and locker rooms. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • A Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and Water Safety Instructor is responsible for operating and maintaining the main and child swimming pool and pool deck during the summer months from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend., • Daily inspections of the pool ensure the pool is cleaned regularly throughout the day by lifeguard staff. This includes skimming, vacuuming, and backwashing the filter as needed., • Monitor and maintain appropriate water chemistry levels, including pH, chlorine, and other chemicals, to ensure the pool is safe and clean for swimmers., • Perform the necessary tasks to open the pool for the season and close it at the end of the season, including winterization., • Inspect and maintain pool equipment, such as pumps, filters, and chemical feeders., • Perform minor repairs and arrange for professional repairs or replacements with the General Manager and/or Maintenance Director when necessary., • Maintain the cleanliness of locker rooms, pool toys/floats, and other pool supplies stocked and in good working order, replace when needed., • Regularly test the pool water to ensure it meets health and safety standards., • Make appropriate adjustments as needed to maintain water quality and clarity., • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal pool operation and, • safety regulations., • Implement safety measures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment for swimmers., • Update the General Manager as needed about important information pertaining to the lifeguard program and/or pool., • Maintain detailed records of pool maintenance, water chemistry tests, and equipment inspections., • Keep records of chemicals used and their dosages for our own records and for the Health. Department, • Ensure the first aid kid is fully stocked with appropriate items as needed., • Supervise and train seasonal pool lifeguards and oversee regular training for guards., • Oversee the supervision of pool attendants and snack bar staff with the management team's assistance., • Be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as drowning incidents or other accidents, and administer first aid or coordinate with emergency services., • Member Engagement and Billing, • Make sure staff are properly checking in members and guests for accurate billing., • Be the face of the Aquatics program and engage with the entire membership., • Treat all members fairly, honestly, uniformly, and with respect., • Ensure a positive and welcoming atmosphere at the pool facility., • College Degree preferred., • Completing a CPO certification course from an accredited organization such as NSPF or similar is mandatory., • Candidate must be knowledgeable about local, state, and federal pool operation and safety regulations, as compliance is a critical part of the role., • Must have at least 3 years minimum of experience in a high-end pool facility, • Effective communication skills, ability to speak with Members, staff, and other management., • Works 40++ hours/week., • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., • Certified Pool Operator, • Water Safety Instructor The pool opens on Memorial Day Weekend and closes after Labor Day.
