Job Description All employees are lineworkers. As a lineworker you will be assigned to one of four areas based on the needs of the business: Production Duty, Front End Duty, Sales Floor Duty or Loading Dock Duty. The position we are hiring for is assigned to Production Duty. The Production Lineworker position will help process donated merchandise in the production room to be sold on the retail sales floor. This position will be trained to perform various jobs assigned to the production department. Some of the duties will include cleaning the sales floor, sorting merchandise, hanging merchandise, and stocking merchandise to replenish the sales floor. This position will also perform other miscellaneous duties as needed by their manager during their scheduled shift. Our business model requires employees to be cross-trained in different areas of work so the daily labor demands can be met. The multi-tasking aspect of the lineworker position is necessary and will require employees to shift their job duties on any given day to meet the daily business demands. All employees MUST be flexible and ready to work wherever needed by the manager and/or supervisor. All employees are expected to perform at or above the company’s minimum performance standards for each job they are trained to do. This is a full-time position (40+ hours weekly) in a retail thrift store plus benefits after 90 days. Responsibilities: Primary: • Ensure the dispensary's compliance with security, inventory, and local and state regulations, • Responsible for providing a high level of education and development for staff pertaining to cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates and consumption mechanisms, • Document financial, Inventory and customer trends; maintain sales and purchasing reports, • Manage and maintain dispensary sales and inventory management software., • Responsible for the creation of daily/monthly work plans to ensure that sales and operational goals of the store are met, utilizing staffing resources appropriately., • Responsible for revenue generation through multiple channels including but not limited to in store, online, and delivery., • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, on-boarding, and training of employees, ensuring understanding and compliance to shop standards, organizational goals and direction; including conducting progressive counseling as necessary., • Formulate a pricing and promotional strategy by reviewing product sales, reports and analyzing sales trends., • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Housing Works policies and procedures and ensuring that all organizational deadlines and directives are met., • Understand and fully implement Housing Works' customer service program, showcasing exemplary customer service, including but not limited to greeting, saying thank you, explaining policies clearly and politely to the satisfaction of the customer, and by prioritizing assisting customers over all other shop tasks., • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business and to successfully execute new initiatives., • Encourage teamwork and foster creativity., • Recognize talent and help to develop individuals for advancement within the organization., • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training meetings/sessions and through independent study., • Be a Housing Works Ambassador by knowing and communicating the Mission Statement, outreaching to the community, and participating in a minimum of four direct actions per year aimed at ending the twin crises of homelessness and HIV/AIDS., • 3-5 years of retail management experience required; Cannabis knowledge or dispensary leadership experience a plus, • Knowledge of marijuana strains, (indicas, sativas, hybrids), edibles, extracts, and current products on the market is a plus., • Experience in New York City Cannabis Industry, State Compliance & Regulations, and Inventory Control & Management is a plus., • Intermediate-level math skills., • Must stay current and adhere to all policies and regulations of the state cannabis agency, • Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agency, • Able to pass all background checks as required by state cannabis agency, • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, • Some Human Resource principle, • This role requires the candidate to be at least 21 years and older, • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal and team-oriented skills., • Self-starting, self-motivating, solutions-oriented mindset, • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, • Ability to make decisions under pressure, flexibility to course correct as necessary, • Strong interest in the Housing Works mission to end the dual crises of homelessness and HIV/AIDS, • Flexibility in schedule; weekends and holidays are required; may be required to work over 40 hours a week as necessary, • Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for long periods of time, • Frequently required to lift a minimum of 40 pounds., • Frequently communicates (exchanges information, converse with, express oneself) with subordinates, vendors, supervisors, and community at large, • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, articulations and instruction of policy and procedure.
