Senior Treasury Analyst (Asst. Treasurer Track), Kyriba Implementation (NYC Hybrid)

New York
You've built a career in treasury. You know the mechanics, you understand the strategy, and you've earned the right to own something bigger than your current title allows. But at your company, the path from Senior Analyst to the next level runs through years of waiting, layers of approvals, and a promotion timeline someone else controls. ⠀ What if you could skip the line? ⠀ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗬 Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a fast-growing insurance carrier backed by a major private equity firm. This company was built from scratch by senior leadership recruited from some of the most respected names in insurance and financial services, and it has scaled rapidly with significant capital behind it. ⠀ The treasury function is brand new. The Treasurer is building a team of three, and this Senior Treasury Analyst role is the centerpiece: the person who drives the analytical engine, leads the TMS implementation, and sets the standard for how treasury operates as the business grows. ⠀ 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 This is not just a Senior Analyst title. You will function as a de facto Assistant Treasurer, building treasury operations alongside the Treasurer with direct access to the CFO and CEO daily. The Treasurer described it this way: "You're going to be on the ground floor building treasury with the Treasurer from the ground up, effectively acting as an assistant treasurer. If you've got a decent amount of experience, this could be a real way to move up your career quickly and get a ton of experience you wouldn't get at a large shop." ⠀ The company just signed with Kyriba for their Treasury Management System. The implementation hasn't started yet. You would lead that buildout from the operations side, working with the implementation consultant to configure and launch the platform. That is your project from day one. ⠀ 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗬 Most insurance companies are running on decades-old technology, buried in technical debt. This company is building a modern, cloud-native platform from scratch, designed to scale rapidly while redefining how policyholders experience financial products. ⠀ The PE backing isn't just money. The firm behind this company has a track record of building industry-leading businesses across financial services, consumer brands, and technology. The thesis: take a proven operator, give them a blank slate, back them with serious capital, and let them build the company they always envisioned. ⠀ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 You will report directly to the Treasurer in a three-person team. There are no VP or SVP layers between you and the C-suite. The company runs a flat, collaborative structure where titles are simple and access is real. ⠀ Your scope covers the analytical and strategic side of treasury: liquidity forecasting, capital and collateral management, investment portfolio support, treasury analytics, and reporting. You will also supervise daily treasury operations run by the Treasury Analyst, mentoring them as processes mature and the function scales. ⠀ 𝗔 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘 𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗡-𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 This role requires four days per week in-office in Midtown Manhattan (Monday through Thursday), with Fridays remote. This is firm and comes directly from leadership. If a hybrid schedule with four days onsite does not work for you, this is not the right fit. We want to be upfront about this so neither side wastes time. ⠀ 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨'𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗 • Lead the Kyriba TMS implementation: work with the consultant to configure the platform, define workflows, test integrations, and drive adoption across the treasury function, • Own cash flow forecasting across multiple time horizons, gathering inputs cross-functionally from accounting, investments, and operations and presenting to the Treasurer and CFO, • Manage liquidity monitoring, collateral management, and capital requirement reporting as the insurance platform scales, • Support capital markets activity including FHLB program administration, credit facility management, and external counterparty interaction, • Supervise and mentor the Treasury Analyst on daily treasury operations (cash positioning, wire processing, bank reconciliation), ensuring quality and consistency as processes scale, • Build treasury analytics and reporting frameworks from scratch, including board-level and investor-facing deliverables, • Manage banking relationships end-to-end: lead conversations with banking partners, optimize account structures, drive fee negotiations, and handle the operational plumbing of bank forms, controls, and file configurations, • Develop and document treasury policies, SOPs, and internal controls where none currently exist ⠀ 𝗔 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦 Let's be direct: you're good at what you do. But at a large company, you're going to get strung along for a long time before you get real visibility or ownership. ⠀ Here's the alternative: join a company backed by a major PE firm, led by leadership with decades of industry credibility, and build treasury from scratch alongside the Treasurer. You will get years of compressed experience, direct C-suite interaction, and the kind of resume line that separates you from everyone else at your level. ⠀ If you've been waiting for the right opportunity to make a move, this is it. ⠀ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞 This is a startup. Right now, even the Treasurer is moving cash. The hiring manager said it directly: "I need somebody that's really excited, that wants to work on things. The job will get interesting, but right now it's a lot of rolling up your sleeves." ⠀ There are no inherited playbooks. You will write the playbook. If you need established processes and clear guardrails to do your best work, this isn't the right fit. If ambiguity energizes you and you want to build something you can point to and say "I did that," keep reading. ⠀ You also need to understand how insurance companies make money. That is not negotiable. The team recently passed on a candidate specifically because they could not articulate the basic insurance business model. Come prepared to talk about how insurers generate revenue, manage float, and think about risk. If you haven't done the homework before the interview, you won't get past the first conversation. ⠀ 𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱: • 6 to 12 years of corporate treasury experience with demonstrated breadth across multiple functions. This is critical: if your career has been concentrated in a single treasury function, even if you've done it well for a decade, this role requires someone who has touched cash management, forecasting, capital markets, banking operations, and reporting. The CFO recently passed on a candidate whose experience was deep but narrow., • Insurance or regulated financial institution background strongly preferred. Insurance experience is a near-firm requirement from leadership, not just a preference. Candidates from banking, asset management, or other regulated financial services will be considered if exceptional across every other dimension., • CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) certification strongly preferred. CFA or MBA also valued, but CTP carries the most weight for this role., • Hands-on experience with cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and treasury reporting, • Working knowledge of capital markets instruments: FHLB, revolving credit facilities, commercial paper, or debt programs, • TMS experience as a daily user (Kyriba preferred). Understanding of how treasury management systems work is required; implementation experience is a strong plus but not mandatory., • Direct banking relationship management experience, and not just transacting within systems someone else manages. You need to speak the language of bank operations: forms, controls, file configurations, account structures. The Treasurer needs someone who can pick up the phone with a banking partner and own the conversation., • Ability to commute to Midtown Manhattan 4 days per week, no exceptions ⠀ 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀: • Experience from a middle market insurance carrier, reinsurer, or PE-backed insurance platform (teams of 5 to 20 people are the sweet spot), • Kyriba implementation involvement (configuration, testing, go-live, not just managing the consultant), • JPMorgan Access or Oracle Financials experience, • Experience mentoring or supervising junior treasury staff, • ALM, collateral management, or investment portfolio support exposure ⠀ 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗙𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆: $140,000 to $160,000 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀: 10% to 15% annual target 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳: 20 vacation days, 5 sick days, 14 paid company holidays 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲: Multiple plan options with 100% employer-paid medical and dental available (varies by zip code; 8 to 10 plans depending on state). Vision is employee-paid. 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 401(k) with employer match 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲: Monday through Thursday in-office (Midtown Manhattan, near Grand Central), remote Fridays. Core hours approximately 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. No late-night culture; the team is typically out by 5:30. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲: Modern space in Midtown Manhattan, fully stocked with snacks and drinks. Flat culture with no VP/SVP title layers. You will interact with the CFO and CEO regularly. ⠀ Apply via LinkedIn and we'll reach out to schedule a conversation.
