Job Description POSITION DESCRIPTION Position: Maintenance Technician Department: Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor Classification: Non-Exempt General Description Under supervision, the Maintenance Technician will perform necessary repair related to the Cathedral, the residence, and equipment, preventative and general maintenance, in addition to maintenance of all the surrounding grounds. Specific Duties/Responsibilities The following specific responsibilities are representative of the duties required in this position. They may be unilaterally but reasonably changed based on the working environment and departmental needs. • Performs assigned general (heavy) housekeeping, including waste and rubbish collection, cleaning and buffing., • Performs ground maintenance such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse., • Paints, repairs masonry, plumbing, and furnishings of the building., • Transports trash and waste to disposal area., • Moves office furniture, file cabinets, and other related items., • Changes lightbulbs, ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, water filters, air filters for HVAC units., • Performs snow removal and related ground duties as assigned by supervisor., • Provides patrol presence in conjunction with Cathedral events., • Accepts and tallies deliveries, stores and maintains supply stocks., • Set up tables and chairs, conference rooms, whenever necessary., • Uses and understands the purpose and nomenclature of hand and small bench tools., • Understands and applies safety precautions, operating instructions and devises (e.g. fire extinguishers)., • Other duties as assigned. We are looking for a dependable individual who is willing to learn various manufacturing duties on our manufacturing floor, such as sandblasting, painting of manufactured parts and the operation of various manufacturing machinery. We are willing to train the right person. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday from 7:50 am to 4:20 pm. JOB RESPONSIBITIES: • Will be trained in the operation of various manufacturing machines and presses.• Also be trained on cleaning/trimming molded part and packing it according to company standards.• Inspect product constantly to maintain highest quality parts.• Maintain and handle tools and equipment used for production and quality procedures.• Record production output and machine efficiency. • Assist in operation of other machines and tasks which the business demands in other production areas.• Must follow all the safety procedures, company rules and regulations, use of dust masks, gloves, eye protection and other safety equipment.• Maintain clean work area, machine, tools and equipment. Some weekends are required for makeup work after rain outs, equipment down time, etc. This position comes with an expectation of consistent attendance, a positive attitude for customers and co-workers, and the ability to keep the required pace each day.
