Job Description Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description The Machine Operator sets up and operates machinery used in fastener coating processes, applies nylon powder coatings and chemical locking compounds, and ensures all parts meet precise specifications and quality standards. This role performs dimensional and torque inspections using measurement tools, conducts basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, and accurately records production data, quality checks, and equipment issues while working under the guidance of a lead operator and supervisor. Responsibilities • Set up machinery, jigs, dies, and fixtures for fastener coating operations., • Operate coating and chemical locking processes on fasteners according to production instructions., • Apply nylon powder coating and chemical locking compounds to parts while maintaining consistent quality., • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure correct setup and processing., • Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, torque tools, and other measurement devices., • Inspect parts to verify they meet all specifications and quality standards., • Record production data, including output quantities, process parameters, and quality check results., • Document equipment issues and maintenance activities in a clear and timely manner., • Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to support smooth production flow., • Follow established production instructions, work orders, and standard operating procedures., • Work under the direction of a lead operator and supervisor to meet production goals., • Support general production activities such as assembly, picking, packing, and material handling as needed., • Assist with inventory, shipping and receiving, unloading, and warehouse tasks when required., • Use RF scanners and other warehouse tools to track materials and finished goods., • Maintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with safety and 5S standards., • Adhere to all safety policies, including proper use of PPE, and report any hazards or incidents promptly. Essential Skills • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to set up and operate production machinery., • Experience in manufacturing or production environments, including machine operation and general production work., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications., • Proficiency in performing dimensional inspections using calipers, torque tools, and other measurement instruments., • Strong attention to detail to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards., • Effective organization skills to manage production tasks, documentation, and workflow., • Clear communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, lead operators, and team members., • Reliability and consistent attendance to support production schedules., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently., • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment., • Safety-conscious mindset with adherence to company policies and procedures., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of regular job duties., • Ability to stand and walk for long periods while performing production and warehouse tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in inventory control, shipping and receiving, and material handling in a warehouse or manufacturing setting., • Experience in assembly, picking, packing, and general warehouse operations., • Familiarity with RF scanners and basic logistics processes., • Exposure to coating processes, chemical locking applications, or similar industrial operations., • Comfort working under supervision while taking initiative to maintain equipment and production flow. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hawthorne, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
