Key Job Functions: At VetPowered, the Welder Fabricator is responsible for performing welding and metal fabrication work in support of shop operations and custom projects. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Work includes building, repairing, and modifying metal components and equipment based on drawings, samples, or direction. The position supports a mission-driven organization that values precision, professionalism, and service to the veteran community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Perform certified welding and fabrication work to industry standards; a current, verifiable welding certification is required (not entry-level or hobby experience) • Measure, cut, fit, form, and shape metal components safely and accurately, • Perform TIG, MIG, and Stick welding on mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys including Inconel and Monel, • Build and repair welded structures, components, and equipment from drawings, samples, or direction, • Fabricate carts, pallets, trailers, bumpers, and custom metal projects using a range of materials and structural shapes, • Operate fabrication equipment including band saws, cold saws (manual, semi-automatic, and automatic), mills, shears, hydraulic brakes, plasma cutters, and related tools, • Utilize CNC equipment such as CNC shears, CNC press brakes, tube notchers, abrasive notchers, and other metalworking machinery as required, • Support and guide others as needed to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule, • Load and unload equipment and materials safely onto vehicles and trailers; assist with pickup and delivery of materials as needed, • Operate a forklift safely or obtain forklift certification within a reasonable timeframe, • Work effectively across multiple projects while maintaining quality and attention to detail, • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and leadership; identify issues and provide practical solutions, • Follow all company, state, and federal safety policies and procedures • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from the worksite\n, • Current or previous MIG and TIG welding certifications; must be able to requalify or certify within two (2) weeks of hire\n, • Successful completion of an entrance welding examination in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, including fabrication of a test piece\n, • Strong communication skills; experience with prototype development or jig design is a plus\n, • Eligibility to obtain a DBIDS Clearance, including the ability to meet background requirements\n, • Compliance with all applicable company, state, and federal safety regulations\n, • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required\n\n Mission and Values: Contribute to achievement of the Mission and Vision of our organization by being: \n\n • \nAttention to Detail- The ability to accomplish a task while demonstrating a thorough concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small.\n, • \nAll In-Brings their whole self to work and giving it their all no matter how difficult the job or situation.\n, • \nAccountable- Taking personal responsibility for their work, owns mistakes, communicate honestly rather than hiding the truth, does not blame others or make excuses.\n, • \nAdaptable- Easily adjusts to changing circumstances.\n, • \nAlways Improving- A constant, ongoing effort to improve something. Overtime applies based on workload and production needs. Pay: The range of pay for this California-based position is $38.00 - 43.00 per hour. Incentive Compensation: Potential for bonus or incentive compensation after one full year of employment. The actual compensation offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Occasional weekends or schedule adjustments may be required to support Company goals and production needs. The employee is regularly required to push, move, lift or otherwise bear 10-30lbs (35-75lb W/M). Work Environment: The employee works in a contract manufacturing facility in an urban industrial neighborhood. Other areas within the facility are mixed use such as administration, classrooms, welding, and machining areas.
