Job Description Welder Fitter - El Cajon Job Description The Welder Fitter performs TIG and MIG welding on a variety of assemblies, supports a journeyman welder with fit-up and fabrication, and works from blueprints to produce high-quality welded components. This role operates in a hands-on fabrication environment, using fixtures and hand tools to weld and assemble parts made from exotic materials and various thicknesses. The position is based on-site in El Cajon, CA, four days per week. Open Shifts • First shift schedule 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Mon-Thurs), • Second shift schedule 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM(Mon-Thurs), • Weekend schedule 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM (Fri-Sun)Responsibilities, • Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on assemblies according to drawings and specifications., • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings., • Assist with fit-up, fabrication, and assembly of components to required tolerances., • Set up and operate welding equipment and use fixtures, jigs, grinders, and other fabrication tools., • Weld stainless steel, Inconel, and other alloys while maintaining high quality standards., • Complete required production and traceability documentation., • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area., • Support other fabrication and production activities as needed.Required Qualifications, • Experience with TIG and MIG welding., • Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings., • Experience with fit-up, fixtures, and common fabrication tools., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality., • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment., • Must provide own welding hood and gloves; all other PPE is provided.Preferred Qualifications, • Experience working in a custom fabrication or manufacturing environment., • Experience welding stainless steel, Inconel, or other specialty alloys., • Familiarity with specialized welding techniques and procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
