Job DescriptionBenefits: • 401(k), • 401(k) matching, • Competitive salary About Us: We are a family-owned steel fabrication shop specializing in custom metalwork for commercial, industrial, and residential clients. Responsibilities: • Lead, mentor, and train a team of skilled welders and fabricators., • Plan, assign, and direct daily welding and fabrication tasks to meet production schedules and deadlines., • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly., • Perform various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc, etc.) on different materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.)., • Fabricate and assemble metal parts, brackets, and structures according to required dimensions and tolerances., • Conduct quality control inspections of finished products, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications., • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and report weekly updates to management., • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency improvements within the fabrication shop., • Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed, maintaining a safe and organized work environment., • Estimate time and material costs for custom fabrication projects., • Operate and maintain a variety of welding and fabrication equipment, including torches, power supplies, saws, grinders, and other machine shop tools., • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed. Qualifications: • Proven experience as a welder/fabricator, with at least 3+ in a lead or supervisory role., • Expertise in various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core, etc.) and ability to work with diverse metals., • Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols., • Proficient in using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges., • Excellent knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, shaping, bending, and assembly., • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a team effectively., • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail., • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety regulations., • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs.) and stand/be active for extended periods., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills., • Valid driver's license (if applicable for occasional travel or material pick-up). Preferred (but not required): • Experience with CNC cutting machines., • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
