Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Radiology Technologist, Hospital. In this role, the successful candidate under the direction of a Radiologist, operates radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. Job Responsibilities: • Operates Radiology equipment to produce quality images as ordered/according to department protocols. Produces quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist., • Performs other duties as assigned., • Instructs and supervises Radiography students in clinical practicum. Works with Radiography students in completing exams. Performs QA image review with students., • Assists in the care and maintenance of the facilities, equipment, and supplies while abiding by WUH infection control policy and procedure. Maintains proper environment of care. Follows WUH infection control policy and procedure. Initiates Standard Precautions when required., • Accurate utilization of the Radiology Information Systems. Verifies proper exam was completed, amount of contrast (if used) is correct, and proper code is attached. Arrives and completes procedures in a timely fashion., • Proper and timely utilization of the PACs system allowing for Radiologist interpretation. Verifies all images are transferred to PACs in a timely matter., • Practices effective radiation protection in utilizing appropriate shielding devices when possible. Monitors exposure and follows department policy regarding pregnant patients. Preferred Qualifications: 1-2 years of Radiologic Technology experience, preferred. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
