You will be translating insights into actionable recommendations that improve Caterpillar products and services. You’ll collaborate with Expert Operators, Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to keep user needs central to decision-making. /p /brpYou will also: /p /brul /brliPlan and conduct user research (surveys, in-depth interviews, contextual inquiries, eye tracking, and concept testing) with support from senior researchers. /li /brliSynthesize real user behavior and feedback into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for design and product teams to improve our product and service features and/or develop new ones. /li /brliClarify operator, customer, and business needs and synthesize them to help support evidence‑based interaction concepts that drive safe, efficient, and intuitive operation of heavy equipment in real-world conditions. /li /brliCreate and maintain shareable UX research artifacts, such as operator journeys, task flows, mental models, storyboards, and experience maps, to align cross-functional teams around operator needs and context of use. /li /brliCollaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Data/Analytics teams. /li /brliTranslate research findings (usability testing, field studies, simulations) into clear, prioritized insights and recommendations that inform HMI, display, and overall heavy equipment UX decisions. /li /brliSupport research operations: documentation, note-taking, analysis, and stakeholder presentations. /li /brliPrioritize research opportunities with your Lead and Manager based on product goals and business needs. /li /br /ul /brh3What You Have: /h3 /brul /brliWorking knowledge of Human Factor Interaction (HFI) and/or Human-Centered Design (HCD) principles and UX research methods. /li /brliAbility to analyze data and present recommendations. /li /brliStrong written and verbal communication skills. /li /brliFamiliarity with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and UI design basics. /li /br /ul /brh3Required Qualifications: /h3 /brul /brliBachelor’s degree in a related field (Human Factors, Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Cognitive Science, Information Science) or equivalent practical experience. /li /brliExperience applying user research in product/service teams; ability to facilitate common methods and produce clear deliverables. /li /br /ul /brh3Desirable Qualifications: /h3 /brul /brliExperience in mixed-method HMI research. /li /brliFamiliarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods, behavioral analysis, and statistics is preferred. /li /brliExperience with physical ergonomics is desired. /li /brliAbility to conduct both physical and digital customer research. /li /brliExcellent working knowledge of principles of experiment design is desired. /li /brliA balanced understanding of strategy, research, and interaction. /li /brliAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment. /li /brliExperience conducting user research in an applied setting. /li /brliGood interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. /li /brliAbility to create compelling presentations and convey insights and design solutions through storytelling across all levels. /li /brliDesirable is flexibility/adaptability (ability to change direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus). /li /br /ul /brh3Additional Information: /h3 /brpThis is a full on-site position, requiring 5 days per week in the office. /p /brh3What You Will Get: /h3 /brpWorking with a Fortune 100 leader, you can build your career on a global scale and take advantage of development opportunities with emerging technologies.
