ph3Who are we? /h3 pMiMIAT Health is a patient-owned unified longitudinal record that enables data continuity and makes disease evolution visible across fragmented care settings for multidisciplinary teams managing hard-to-diagnose diseases. /p pOur first live module focuses on gastrointestinal health, and we are already working across healthcare and institutional environments, with recognition from AstraZeneca ACCIÓN, PRECISEU Best Practice Recognition in the Excellence category, Google for Startups for Sustainable Development, NVIDIA Inception, and ESADE eWorks. /p pOur mission? To give patients back control, reduce delays in care, and make chronic disease management more dignified, inclusive, and data-driven. /p h3What are we looking for? /h3 pWe’re looking for a Backend Developer to help us maintain, improve, and scale the backend infrastructure behind MiMIAT’s patient mobile app and clinician web platform. /p pThis is currently an initial unpaid pro‑bono/volunteer collaboration, with an expected contribution of approximately 18-20 hours per week, managed flexibly around the contributor’s other commitments and coordinated with the team’s priorities. /p pThe opportunity is particularly suited to someone who wants to contribute to a meaningful social‑impact HealthTech project; strengthen their CV through hands‑on experience with a real product already deployed in the market; gain practical exposure to digital health, patient‑generated health data, and healthcare workflows; or complement their current professional or academic work with a hands‑on role in an early‑stage European startup. /p pWe value consistency over intensity. You do not need to be available full‑time, but we do need reliable contribution, realistic availability, and clear communication around progress, blockers, and changing circumstances. /p h3What you’ll do /h3 ul liMaintain and improve the backend services powering MiMIAT’s patient mobile app and clinician web platform. /li liDevelop and maintain backend features using TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, and Express.js. /li liBuild and refine REST APIs connected to authentication, patient‑clinician workflows, consent‑based access, notifications, longitudinal health data, clinical records, and other core product logic. /li liManage NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB with Mongoose. /li liDeploy, maintain, and improve backend infrastructure using AWS, Docker, and related cloud technologies. /li liWork directly with authentication and authorization flows using JWT, protected routes, user roles, and permission structures. /li liReview and improve infrastructure reliability, deployment workflows, environment configuration, access management, and technical maintainability. /li liUse Bruno, Postman, or similar tools to test backend endpoints and support frontend/backend integration. /li liCollaborate closely with the mobile, frontend, QA, and product teams to identify issues, validate fixes, and support stable product releases. /li liHelp document backend logic, APIs, infrastructure context, deployment processes, and technical decisions so that MiMIAT avoids single‑person dependency and becomes easier to maintain and scale. /li /ul h3Who are you? /h3 ul liYou have around 2+ years of hands‑on backend experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, and REST API development. /li liYou have practical experience with MongoDB and Mongoose, or strong database experience with the ability to adapt quickly to a MongoDB‑based backend. /li liYou have hands‑on experience deploying and maintaining backend services on AWS. For this role, AWS experience is important, not merely a nice‑to‑have. /li liYou understand cloud infrastructure, environments, deployment workflows, access management, and the operational responsibilities behind maintaining a live backend. /li liYou have worked with authentication and authorization flows, ideally including JWT, protected routes, and role‑based access logic. /li liYou understand how backend systems connect with mobile apps, web platforms, notifications, emails, file uploads, and real user workflows. /li liYou are comfortable testing APIs with Bruno, Postman, or similar tools. /li liYou can share concrete examples of backend systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, or production products that you have personally built, maintained, or significantly contributed to. /li liYou have realistically assessed your current professional, academic, and personal commitments and can sustain approximately 18-20 hours per week over the coming months. /li liYou understand that clear and proactive communication is essential in a fully remote and international team working across different time zones. /li liYou are comfortable joining an early‑stage product where ownership, documentation, pragmatic decisions, and consistency matter. /li liYou are consciously looking for a pro‑bono / volunteer opportunity where you can create social impact, strengthen your CV, gain real product experience, or complement your current professional or academic work with a hands‑on early‑stage HealthTech role. /li liBonus points if you have experience with: Digital health, patient‑facing products, sensitive data environments, GDPR, Docker, Firebase, SendGrid, CI/CD, automated testing, clinician‑facing platforms, or other regulated environments. /li liAdditional plus if you can support React Native/Expo workflows, including EAS builds, OTA updates, release channels, or app release processes. /li /ul h3What do we offer? /h3 ul liThis is currently an initial unpaid pro‑bono / volunteer collaboration, designed for someone who wants to contribute meaningfully to a real HealthTech product while gaining hands‑on experience and strengthening their profile in digital health, startups, and product development. /li liYou’ll work directly on live patient and clinician‑facing products already deployed in the market. /li liYou’ll gain hands‑on exposure to backend development in digital health, chronic care, patient‑generated health data, clinician workflows, consent‑based data sharing, and real‑world deployment. /liliYou’ll work closely with the founder and international technical team during MiMIAT’s next stage of product growth. /li liYou’ll contribute to a platform expanding across new clinical modules, languages, and healthcare environments. /li liYou’ll be part of a global, multidisciplinary team spanning engineering, UX/UI, QA, clinical, regulatory, compliance, and business development. /li liYou’ll contribute to a mission focused on making chronic care more connected, dignified, inclusive, and patient‑centred. /li liYou’ll join a social‑impact HealthTech startup recognized and supported through AstraZeneca ACCIÓN, PRECISEU Best Practice Recognition, Google for Startups for Sustainable Development, NVIDIA Inception, and ESADE eWorks, while opening pathways with public health institutions, hospitals, academia, and other healthcare stakeholders. /li liAny future paid or formal collaboration, if ever considered, would depend entirely on MiMIAT’s evolution, mutual fit, available resources, and a separate written agreement. No future paid opportunity is guaranteed or implied by this volunteer collaboration. /li /ul h3How to apply /h3 pSend your CV, GitHub, portfolio, personal site, or concrete examples of backend, API, or cloud products you have personally built or significantly contributed to at , or reach out directly here on LinkedIn. /p pPlease also be ready to explain your current professional or academic commitments and the level of contribution you can realistically sustain over the coming months. /p pIf you’re looking to create real social impact, strengthen your CV through meaningful HealthTech experience, or complement your current work with a hands‑on role in an early‑stage European startup, we’d love to hear from you! /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
