ppThe Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a comprehensive bcancer research center /b dedicated to conduct research and drive innovation in the epidemiological, preventive, clinical, translational, and basic aspects of leukaemia and other hematologic malignancies, with the final aim of finding a cure for these diseases. It was created in 2010, and since then has experienced an exponential growth. /p pThe IJC is also part of the network of Excellence Research Centers of Catalonia b(CERCA) /b and was accredited as a bSevero Ochoa Center of Excellence /b by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities in 2024. Since 2018, the Institute has also been accredited by the Scientific Foundation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer b(FCAECC) /b Additionally, IJC is one of the centers integrated into the Institut de Recerca Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP) accreditation as Accredited Health Research Institute (IIS) by the Carlos III Health Institute b(ISCIII) /b. /p pThe IJC's main headquarters is located within the Can Ruti Biomedical Campus, alongside other leading biomedical institutions, providing direct access to cutting-edge scientific and technological facilities, as well as complementary community services. The IJC has bsix locations integrated into reference hospitals /b: Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, Hospital Clínic, Hospital Sant Pau, Hospital Josep Trueta, Hospital del Mar and Hospital San Joan de Déu. This facilitates close collaboration between basic and clinical researchers, fostering translational research that integrates basic science with clinical practice in clinical settings. /p pWe are seeking to recruit two bFacilities Maintenance Technicians /b to join its Facilities and Infrastructure Unit. The successful candidates will provide technical support to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the Institute's buildings, facilities and technical systems. They will also contribute to the organisation of institutional events and provide logistical support for the Institute's day-to-day activities. /p pThe positions report directly to the bHead of Facilities and Infrastructure /b. /p h3MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES /h3 ul liCoordinate the day-to-day operation of maintenance service contracts for the Institute's facilities. /li liCarry out preventive and corrective maintenance of building facilities and technical systems, including electrical installations, plumbing and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems. /li liDiagnose and resolve maintenance incidents and coordinate external contractors when required. /li liSupport the implementation of new technologies and continuous improvements in facilities maintenance. /li liParticipate as a member of the Institute's Emergency Response Team and contribute to health, safety and emergency preparedness activities. /li liProvide logistical support for internal office relocations and space reorganisation. /li liSupport the organisation of institutional events, training activities, scientific symposia, conferences, institutional visits and PhD thesis defences. /li liPerform any other duties related to the position as assigned by the Head of Facilities and Infrastructure. /li liContribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures, processes and service quality. /li /ul h3WHAT WE NEED /h3 ul liVocational Education and Training (VET) qualification (Intermediate or Higher Level) in Facilities Maintenance or a related technical discipline. /li liAt least 3 years' professional experience in building or facilities maintenance. /li liSolid knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing and HVAC installations. /li liBasic knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). /li liBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and Building Management Systems (BMS). /li liProfessional proficiency in Catalan and Spanish. /li liBasic level of English. /li liTraining in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Biosafety. /liliPrevious experience working in biomedical facilities, laboratories or research institutes. /li liExperience in occupational risk prevention and emergency management. /li liValid driving licence (own vehicle is an advantage). /li /ul h3KEY COMPETENCIES /h3 ul liExcellent organisational and planning skills. /li liStrong teamwork and interpersonal skills. /li liGood written and verbal communication skills. /li liProactive, practical and solution-oriented approach. /li liCustomer-service mindset with a commitment to supporting researchers and professional services staff. /li liAbility to work independently with a high level of responsibility and flexibility. /li liAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. /li /ul h3WHAT WE OFFER /h3 ul liPermanent full-time position. /li liFull-time contract (39 hours per week). /li liCompetitive salary, commensurate with qualifications and professional experience. /li li23 working days of annual leave, additional personal leave days and flexible working hours, subject to service requirements. /li liWork-life balance measures and family-friendly policies. /li liFlexible remuneration programme, including childcare vouchers and other employee benefits. /li liA collaborative, inclusive and supportive working environment. /li liA unique workplace located in the Can Ruti Biomedical Campus (Badalona), surrounded by a natural environment. /li /ul h3DEADLINE /h3 pApplications will be accepted until b10 August 2026 /b. /p h3WHO WE ARE? /h3 pThe mission of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute is to conduct research and drive innovation in the epidemiological, preventive, clinical, translational, and basic aspects of cancer, with a special emphasis on Leukaemia and other malignant blood diseases, with the aim of finding a cure for these diseases.br/The IJC’s vision is to be a world-class reference and excellent research center that contributes to the improvement of results, and the cure of patients affected by leukaemia and other malignant haemopathies, through innovation, sustainability, social responsibility, talent, and professional experience. /p pIn 2019, IJC was honored with the “Human Resources Excellence in Research Award” by the European Commission, recognizing the alignment of our human resources policies with the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
