Location: Barcelona OR Madrid Our client is building the future of AI-powered customer and agent experiences at enterprise scale, handling tens of millions of bot conversations annually. As Conversational AI Technical Lead, you’ll sit at the heart of that mission --- owning the architecture, quality, and evolution of the Conversational AI platform. You’ll work at the intersection of product, engineering, and operations, ensuring AI capabilities are robust, scalable, and genuinely useful for millions of customers and thousands of agents. What You’ll Do Design and own the technical architecture of the Conversational AI platform and ecosystem, covering virtual assistants, agent assist tools, and agentic workflow automation across customer service channels Lead the technical integration and configuration of the Conversational AI platform and its supporting components Define and enforce engineering standards, code quality, and best practices for bot development, dialogue design, Gen AI integration, and API integrations across distributed development teams Act as the primary technical interface with platform vendors, evaluating roadmap features, managing escalations, and influencing product direction based on business needs Partner with Tribe Leads, Product Owners, and Enterprise Architects to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions Evaluate, integrate, and govern Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities within the Conversational AI stack --- including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool/function calling, and safe deployment of generative AI features in regulated enterprise contexts What You’ll Bring 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Conversational AI development, including dialogue design, NLU/NLP concepts, complex architecture setups, and enterprise platform integration (e.G. Cognigy, Genesys, Google CCAI, or equivalent) Strong software engineering background, with proficiency in at least one backend language and a solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and cloud-native architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Demonstrated experience leading technical teams or workstreams in complex, multi‑stakeholder enterprise environments --- including vendor management and cross‑functional collaboration Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences, including business stakeholders and senior leadership A mindset that bridges engineering rigour with product thinking --- caring not just about whether something works, but whether it solves the right problem at the right scale Practical LLM expertise, including working with models from Open AI, Anthropic, or Google, designing prompt pipelines, implementing RAG architectures, and applying responsible AI principles such as guardrails, hallucination mitigation, and output evaluation A solid grasp of agentic AI concepts, including multi‑step reasoning, tool use, orchestration frameworks, and the ability to assess when agentic approaches add genuine value versus complexity Expertise in emerging agentic AI standards --- such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) for tool and data integration and Agent-to-Agent (A2 A) protocol for multi‑agent orchestration --- and the ability to assess applicability within enterprise‑grade Conversational AI deployments What’s on Offer A hybrid work model in Barcelona or Madrid, including up to 25 days per year working from abroad A competitive compensation and benefits package, including a company bonus scheme, pension, employee shares program, and multiple employee discounts (details vary by location) Career development and digital learning programs, plus international career mobility Flexible working, health and wellbeing offers (including healthcare and parental leave benefits), and support for returning from career breaks Access to over 10,000 on-demand learning resources and programs #J-18808-Ljbffr
