Senior Embedded Software Developer As a Senior Embedded Software Developer, you will design, implement, and maintain low‑level and middleware software components running on ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers (STM32 family), using RTOS‑based architectures (e.g. embOS). You will contribute to platform robustness, performance, and long‑term maintainability while collaborating closely with other Core Services and system teams. Responsibilities Contribute to Embedded Architecture and Design Participate in embedded architecture and design discussions for Core Services. Understand and apply platform constraints related to MCU‑based systems (memory, CPU, real‑time behavior, power). Contribute to the definition and evolution of RTOS‑based software architectures. Design clean and well‑defined interfaces between drivers, RTOS services, middleware, and application layers. Maintain a clear understanding of how MCU Core Services integrate with higher‑level platform components (MPU / Edge OS when applicable). Develop and Maintain MCU and RTOS‑Based Software Design and implement embedded software in C / C++ for ARM Cortex‑M (STM32) platforms. Develop software running on RTOS environments (e.g. embOS), including: Task and scheduling design Interrupt handling Timers, synchronization primitives, and IPC Contribute to low‑level software such as: Board Support Package (BSP) components Drivers and hardware abstraction layers MCU services and platform utilities Ensure software robustness, determinism, and reliability in real‑time conditions. Write clear, testable, and maintainable code aligned with embedded best practices. Provide Embedded and RTOS Technical Expertise Act as a technical reference for MCU, RTOS, and real‑time design topics within the team. Support troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of complex embedded issues (timing, concurrency, memory, HW/SW interaction). Contribute to technical investigations, debugging sessions, and performance analysis. Participate in code reviews with a strong focus on real‑time correctness and software quality. Collaborate with other teams (system, hardware, MPU / Edge OS teams) on integration topics. Analyze and Anticipate Technical Impacts Evaluate the impact of design choices on: Real‑time performance Memory footprint Scalability and reusability Long‑term maintainability Identify technical risks early and propose mitigation strategies. Contribute to the definition of development guidelines and reusable patterns for embedded Core Services. Support evolution towards new MCU families, RTOS versions, or platform constraints when required. Contribute to Agile Delivery and Platform Consistency Actively participate in PI Planning, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Collaborate closely with the PO to clarify requirements and technical feasibility. Contribute to effort estimation and technical breakdown of stories. Identify technical blockers or dependencies and communicate them proactively. Work effectively in a multi‑site, multi‑disciplinary environment. Support Knowledge Sharing and Team Growth Support and mentor less experienced embedded developers. Share knowledge on RTOS concepts, embedded patterns, and MCU best practices. Contribute to onboarding of new team members. Promote a culture of engineering excellence, robustness, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Strong experience in embedded software development for MCU‑based systems Solid knowledge of ARM Cortex‑M architecture and STM32 MCU family Proven experience with RTOS‑based systems (e.g. embOS, FreeRTOS, etc.) Strong proficiency in C / C++ for embedded environments Good understanding of real‑time constraints, interrupts, memory management, and concurrency Experience working close to hardware (drivers, BSP, HW/SW interaction) Ability to analyze and solve complex embedded and real‑time issues Comfortable working in agile development environments Autonomous, proactive, and quality‑oriented mindset. Benefits Benefits include a flexible schedule, hybrid work options, additional vacation days through the Holy Pack and Floating Holidays, a Sabbatical Pack for up to 2 months unpaid leave, a global family leave policy, access to the Wellwo health and wellness platform, Wellhub gym subscriptions, onsite medical services, participation in the Career Hub for professional growth, stock ownership program, recognition rewards program, life insurance, a flexible remuneration plan, Club Schneider discounts, and volunteer programs.
