At iPronics, pioneers in software-defined photonics and creators of the world’s first programmable optical switch on silicon, we’re developing our Optical Network Engine — a full technology stack from silicon photonics to software APIs — to meet the needs of next-generation AI and data center architectures. To support this mission, we’re seeking a Grants Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO) and lead the coordination and management of public-funded projects and grant initiatives. What You’ll Do As a Grants Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of the leadership and day-to-day management of publicly funded R&D projects, ensuring excellence in planning, execution, and compliance across multidisciplinary teams and international consortiums. Your main responsibilities will include: • Lead and coordinate internal teams and external partners to achieve project goals and deliverables., • Monitor progress against milestones, ensuring compliance with funding body requirements., • Prepare and oversee high-quality deliverables such as interim, annual, and final reports., • Manage budgets and financial reports, ensuring alignment with funding guidelines., • Administer resource allocation and maintain accurate staff effort tracking., • Identify and mitigate risks, addressing challenges proactively to ensure project success., • Represent iPronics in meetings · Attend and actively participate in all project meetings, both virtual and in-person, with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment.. What We’re Looking For Education & Experience • Proven experience managing public-funded projects from agencies such as the European Union (Horizon Europe), EISMEA (Accelerator programs), and Spanish government programs (e.g., IPCEI, Misiones PERTE)., • Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus)., • Full professional proficiency in English (additional languages are a plus)., • Experience managing technical and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with funding rules and audits., • Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and preferably ERP or grant management platforms., • Availability to travel nationally and internationally as required. Core Competencies • Excellent organizational, planning, and leadership skills., • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities across multidisciplinary teams., • Reliable, proactive, and self-driven, with a high sense of ownership., • Ability to prioritize effectively and thrive in dynamic environments., • Demonstrated success in managing complex multi-partner projects with precision and accountability. Preferred • Background in photonics or photonics integration is a plus., • Experience preparing and submitting grant proposals for EU and national programs., • Familiarity with EU funding frameworks, financial audits, and technical compliance standards.
