Your Mission in Our Team As a Senior Backend & Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating our internal digitalization. You will be instrumental in creating scalable applications, robust integrations, and data-driven automation that empower our teams and drive efficiency across Siemens Mobility. Designing, developing, and maintaining high-performing backend services, APIs, and data-driven applications. Building and supporting robust data processing and integration pipelines tailored for analytical and AI use cases. Actively contributing to the design of scalable, maintainable, and secure system architectures. Leveraging cloud-based platforms (AWS and/or Azure) to seamlessly deploy and operate innovative solutions. Collaborating closely with data scientists, AI engineers, and digital teams to deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions. Ensuring the highest standards of code quality, performance, reliability, and maintainability in all developed solutions. What Will Make Your Application Stand Out A proven track record with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend and/or data engineering roles. Strong expertise in backend development, particularly in creating APIs and service-oriented architectures. A solid understanding of data engineering concepts, data processing methodologies, and analytical solutions. Practical experience or strong knowledge of cloud environments, with a preference for AWS and/or Azure. Familiarity with modern data platforms, such as Snowflake. A collaborative spirit with experience working in agile, multidisciplinary technical teams. Exceptional problem-solving skills coupled with a structured, quality-oriented mindset. You’ll thrive even more if you also bring Experience with specific programming languages commonly used in backend and data engineering (e.g., Python, Java, Scala). Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Experience with streaming data technologies (e.g., Kafka).
