Senior Ecologist – Exclusive Hire | Central Belt (Glasgow / Edinburgh) We’re not here to waste your time with generic job ads. This is not “just another ecology role.” Our client, a respected, long-standing environmental consultancy with decades of delivery across renewables, infrastructure and nature-based projects, has chosen us as their exclusive hiring partner to find their next Senior Ecologist. What’s on offer • Salary £40k – £45k (DOE) + benefits designed around you, • Hybrid working (2 days remote) + a 35-hour working week, • Annual salary reviews + training allowance tailored to your growth, • 25+ days leave (with flexibility around bank holidays), • Pension up to 8%, professional subscriptions, volunteer days, cycle to work, and wellbeing support What you’ll actually be doing • Lead on habitat & species surveys across diverse projects (renewables, ports, infrastructure, sustainable development), • Deliver high-quality ecological reports & mitigation design that shape outcomes for clients and communities, • Take ownership of small–medium projects & play a key role in major schemes across Scotland, • Influence stakeholders, regulators, contractors & partners to deliver better environmental results, • Mentor junior colleagues & grow your own leadership profile We’re looking for • Relevant degree + proven consultancy experience (4+ yrs ideally), • Strong knowledge of UK ecology legislation & survey techniques (bats / mammals / GCN / botany all welcome), • Experience with HRA, EcIA, EIA chapters, • Client-facing confidence + clear, persuasive report writing, • Desire to step into a role where your expertise is listened to Why this role?
