We are looking for dynamic and inspirational Residential Home Team Leader to join our already established Children's Home Team at Bayview. You'll be working in one of our family feel children's homes in Capernwray, Carnforth, with a maximum of four young people per home. Our service requires individuals who will help guide young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties to success and who are dedicated to supporting our ethos. As well as this, you will support in providing a safe, secure, homely and positive environment for the children and young adults in the home so that their lives are progressively improved. To assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the leadership and management of the day to day operations of the Home so that the lives of all of the young residents are progressively improved. All our homes are rated 'Outstanding' or 'Good' by Ofsted so as such we would require you to assist in the continuous improvement and development of the quality, image and reputation of the Home. To deputise for the Registered Manager at any time when the Registered Manager is not physically present at the Home. You must also hold a full UK driving license. About The Role The Support Worker will provide a structured, personalised resettlement service to every service user at Mildmay House. To seek to support service users who have experienced homelessness to move into their own homes in a planned and supported way. To offer advice, training, information and one-to-one/group support to help service users through this process. The support offered very much depends on the individual, but can include advice on housing rights, accompanying individuals to meetings, and practical support to move in, such as obtaining furniture and setting up payment plans for household bills. Ensure that service users who are ready to move on are given the security and support to maximise their independence, dignity and choice, in accordance with the aims and objectives of the project. Please note this is a full time role working on a rota basis - generally a week of day shifts, a week of night shifts and working every other weekend. What you will be doing: Providing service users with information on housing options, assist them to make applications for accommodation, advocate on their behalf with housing providers and accompany them to interviews and viewings if appropriate Acting as a key-worker to a caseload of residents, enabling them to take ownership of their journey with Salvation Army Homes Ensuring that clients receive the necessary practical help to move in, either directly or through liaison with other support services.
