Part-147 Aircraft Engineering B1.3 Mechanical Instructor / Examiner / Practical Assessor Role Overview An approved Part-147 training organisation is seeking an experienced B1.3 Mechanical Instructor / Examiner / Practical Assessor to join its engineering training team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical aircraft maintenance training, conducting examinations and assessments, and supporting the continued compliance and effectiveness of the Part-147 training environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver theoretical and practical aircraft type training within approved scope and authorisations Perform duties as a Theoretical Examiner and Practical Assessor in accordance with CAA / EASA Part-66 and Part-147 regulations Develop and maintain examination question banks relevant to approved aircraft and engine types Act as invigilator for theoretical examinations as required Ensure all training activity complies with approved training and engineering procedures Support the effective and efficient operation of the training department Assume the responsibilities of the Training Manager during extended periods of absence Maintain examination security, integrity, and regulatory compliance Coordinate examination schedules and timetables Produce and maintain training course material and supporting documentation Travel within the UK and overseas to deliver or attend training when required Knowledge and Skills Essential Extensive practical experience on the following aircraft and engine types: EC135 (all variants) MBB BK117-C2 MBB BK117-D2 Safran Arrius 2B Series Engine Arriel 2E Engine Pratt & Whitney PW206 Engine Experience gained within a civil aviation environment or acceptable equivalent (maintenance, engineering, or design organisation) Strong working knowledge of CAA and EASA regulations, including: CAP1528 CAP1529 EASA UG.CAO.(phone number removed) Previous experience as a Theoretical Examiner and Practical Assessor English language proficiency meeting CEFR Level B1 minimum, in line with CAP1528 requirements Ability to design, develop and deliver training material and presentations for: Aircraft type courses Engine courses Familiarisation training Differences training Desirable Experience using Google Suite tools (Docs, Presentations, Meet) Experience with synthetic training devices Background within a civil aviation training organisation Knowledge of EASA UG.CAO.00169 Experience delivering distance or blended learning programmes Education, Qualifications and Training Essential Hold a Part-147 Type Certificate of Recognition on the following aircraft and engine types: MBB BK117-C2 MBB BK117-D2 (D2 and D3 models) Arriel 2E Engine (BK117-D) EC135T EC135P EC135T3H EC135P3H Arrius 2B Engine (EC135T/T3H) PW206 Engine (EC135P/P3H) Instructor Certificate issued by a recognised training entity and acceptable to the relevant aviation authority Desirable Hold a CAA Part-66 B1.3 licence covering aircraft types delivered within training scope Additional Requirements Ability to obtain DBS clearance Eligibility for Security Clearance (SC) Compliance with all applicable export control regulations Package and Benefits Competitive base salary Pension scheme Private medical cover Annual bonus scheme (subject to eligibility) Employee purchase schemes (technology, vehicles, cycling) Health and wellbeing benefits Insurance options Employee assistance and wellbeing programmes Access to retail discounts and financial guidance services
