Jam Coding London Essex (covering Romford, Dagenham, Epping, Chelmsford, Ongar, Brentwood, Upminster) postcode areas are seeking a Head Coach to join our team and lead coding lessons in after school clubs at local primary schools. If you have the drive, enthusiasm and energy to inspire children to learn life-changing skills and understand the importance of a proper digital education for young people, we want to hear from you. (Candidates must have a driving licence with own car to transport equipment.) We deliver outstanding computing and coding workshops to young people in the region. We are passionate about helping children to use and explore technology in a positive and constructive way. What is a head coach? A Head Coach is responsible for leading the sessions at our clubs. They will work with the assistant coach to deliver exciting, engaging and educational workshops for students in primary schools. It is important for the head coach to be confident in dealing with a class of up to 20 students, and must be enthusiastic about engaging them in what they're learning. Experience or in-depth knowledge of computing or teaching is not essential as full training is provided. However, a passion for working with kids and a basic understanding of computing are what we look for in the best head coaches! Responsibilities As Head Coach, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of Jam Coding London Essex. This role would be ideal for trainee teachers, ex -teachers, teaching assistants, tutors and anyone used to, or interested in, working with young people. No coding experience is needed as full training will be given to the successful applicant to enable them to deliver outstanding and rewarding computing and coding workshops in a variety of formats. ABOUT US We are passionate about inspiring young people to use technology for positive benefits helping them to understand the endless possibilities and opportunities that computational thinking and skills represent. We are positive role models for the learners we teach, giving them safe, well-structured sessions to explore learning opportunities within a number of areas of digital. This includes Game Building, Minecraft, Stop Motion Animation, Coding, Robotics and much more. Working at Jam Coding The core hours are 3 - 5 PM. Each session is 60 minutes, you will be paid for 2 hours, to account for arriving early, setting up and tidying away. The role is part-time and Monday - Friday, 10 hours a week. However, we can be flexible to suit the days and hours that are best for you. We aim to send you to schools nearby to you, and keep you at the same schools for consistency. A rota is sent out weekly. We want you to grow in your role and hold regular appraisals and ongoing training to support you with progression opportunities available.
