Job summaryThe Anaesthetic & Intensive Care Unit at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital is looking to recruit dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our team of dedicated clinicians.Our hospital undertakes all vascular surgery for East Kent, urological (including major cancer and robotic surgery) and elective orthopaedic surgery. A range of day surgical specialties are also represented, including: dental and maxillofacial surgery, ENT, general surgery (including paediatrics), ophthalmology, Interventional Radiology, MRI and endoscopy.Emergency theatre cover is provided daily. Regional anaesthesia plays a major part in our service and we support sustainable anaesthetic principles - Kent & Canterbury Hospital provides critical care services in a six bedded Critical Care Unit and a four bedded, mainly post-surgical, HDU supported by dedicated Intensive Care Clinicians and Anaesthetists.The Anaesthetic department and the Intensive Care Unit at Kent & Canterbury Hospital are active in education, audit and research.Main duties of the jobThis post is for a Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensivist and will be based at Kent & Canterbury Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering anaesthesia sessions with on-call commitments, with a requirement to cover ITU.
