Liverpool Based, £75,000 + benefits, Hybrid (3 days office, 2 remote) Are you ready to take ownership of a compliance function and shape it into a best-in-class operation? This is an opportunity to step into a newly created Head of Compliance role within a well-established financial services business that’s investing heavily in risk and compliance to support its growth. The Opportunity You’ll have full accountability for the compliance function- both strategic and hands-on. Reporting to the CRO, you’ll design and implement frameworks, oversee regulatory obligations, and build the culture of compliance across the organization. This role also carries the SMF16 designation (and ideally SMF15), giving you genuine board-level influence and visibility. You’ll join at a pivotal time: the business has recently strengthened its senior leadership in risk and compliance and is now looking for an experienced professional to set the agenda, embed strong governance, and develop a small but growing team. Key Responsibilities • Act as SMF16, • Primary contact for the FCA, ICO, and other regulators, • Lead on Consumer Duty, SM&CR, and wider FCA obligations, • Develop and deliver the Compliance Assurance Plan and training initiatives, • Provide advisory support to the business and influence at Board level, • Horizon scanning and ensuring preparedness for regulatory change, • Shape compliance frameworks, policies, and culture from the ground up About You • 5+ years’ compliance experience within financial services (insurance background welcome but not essential), • In-depth knowledge of FCA regulation (SYSC, ICOBS, PROD, SM&CR, Consumer Duty), • Proven experience engaging and influencing Board/ExCo stakeholders, • Experience holding or ready to hold an SMF16 function, • Strong knowledge of UK data protection law, with experience as a DPO (or similar), • Hands-on, resilient, and commercially minded – comfortable in an SME-style environment where you can make a tangible impact What’s on Offer • Salary £75,000 + package, • 34 days holiday (incl.
