Focused on innovation and operational excellence within their industry they've recently had major investment including a new state of the art manufacturing site.\n\nDescription\n\nPM shift - Monday to Friday\n\n2pm-10:30pm\n\nHealth, Safety & Environment\n\nEnsure full compliance with health, safety, food safety, and environmental regulations across all shift activities\nMaintain adherence to GMP, HACCP, allergen controls, and site quality standards\nMonitor and enforce Critical Control Points (CCPs), such as sieve integrity and metal detection verification\nConduct safety observations, audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments\nLead by example to promote a strong safety and quality culture on the shop floor\n\nOperational Excellence\n\nOversee all manufacturing operations during the shift, including: blending, filling, packing, potting, labelling, and coding\nDeliver production plans safely, on time, and to specification\nMonitor performance against key metrics: UPH, CPU, KGPH, OEE, and schedule adherence\nManage changeovers, start-ups, and shutdowns to minimise downtime\nEscalate and coordinate responses to breakdowns, quality issues, or material shortages\nMaintain product traceability and ensure accurate batch documentation\n\nPeople Leadership\n\nLead, motivate, and support team leaders, operators, and support functions\nManage effective shift handovers to ensure continuity\nPlan and allocate labour according to schedule and operational priorities\nMonitor attendance and manage shift coverage\nConduct performance reviews, coaching, and development conversations\nSupport training, skills development, and succession planning\n\nPerformance Management & Continuous Improvement\n\nUse Short Interval Control, Daily Review Meetings, and GEMBA walks to identify and resolve issues\nDrive accountability for performance across all teams\nEnsure products meet specification and customer requirements\nMaintain strict adherence to quality systems, SOPs, and work instructions\nManage non-conformances, product holds, and corrective actions\nSupport both internal and external audits and inspections\nControl allergens effectively and minimise cross‑contamination risks\n\nLean Manufacturing & Efficiency\n\nIdentify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and production losses\nLead or support improvement initiatives using Lean principles\nPromote standardisation, 5S, and visual management\nDrive improvements in throughput, reliability, and cost efficiency\n\nCross‑Functional Collaboration\n\nWork closely with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to maintain operational alignment\nCoordinate with maintenance teams to maximise equipment uptime\nCommunicate shift performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership\nSupport new product introductions and process changes\n\nProfile\n\nExtensive background in leading manufacturing operations, preferably within fast‑moving consumer goods, food production, or pharmaceutical sectors\nStrong grasp of GMP, HACCP, and essential food safety requirements\nProven capability working within high‑output, shift‑driven or 24/7 production environments\nDemonstrated success in managing production teams and consistently achieving operational targets\nWell‑versed in key performance metrics such as UPH, CPU, OEE, and KGPH\nPractical experience overseeing CCPs and maintaining robust quality assurance systems\nSkilled in analysing operational performance data to identify opportunities and implement improvements\nWorking knowledge of Lean principles, including 5S and continuous improvement methodologies\nEffective communicator with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities\nHands‑on leader with a visible, proactive presence on the production floor \n\nJob Offer\n\n£45,000\n\n10% bonus
