Location: Cambridge Office Salary: Starting salary £90k+ and benefits About the Role The firm is seeking an experienced and driven professional to lead its Building Surveying team based in Cambridge. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality surveying services, driving business growth, and strengthening client relationships across the region. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the Building Surveying division, ensuring technical excellence, and maintaining the firm’s reputation for delivering expert property advice. Leadership & Management Lead, manage, and develop the Building Surveying team in Cambridge Provide mentorship, training, and performance management to team members Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with company values Identify and secure new business opportunities across sectors Maintain and grow existing client relationships Demonstrate a strong ability to win new business and generate revenue Contribute to the wider firm’s business development strategy Represent the firm at industry events and networking opportunitiesProject & Service Delivery Oversee delivery of a wide range of building surveying services, including: Contract administration Dilapidations advice Technical due diligence Building pathology Planned preventative maintenance Ensure all work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest professional standardsStrategic Input Contribute to regional and national business strategy Support cross-disciplinary collaboration within the firm Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for growth and innovation Key Requirements Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS or equivalent) Significant experience in a senior or leadership role within building surveying Demonstrable ability to win new business and generate revenue through proactive client engagement Strong track record in business development and client relationship management Excellent technical knowledge xrnqpay across a broad range of surveying services Proven leadership and team management skills Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking ability Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsDesirable Skills & Experience Experience working within a consultancy environment Established network within the Cambridge and wider East of England property market Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams Ability to contribute to wider firm initiatives and growth strategiesWhat on Offers Starting salary of £90k+ and benefits package Opportunities for buy-in ownership A collaborative and supportive working environment Exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients and projects Partnership model
