This is a rare opportunity to develop a deep subject-matter expertise in aerospace and defence (A&D), not just a generalist researcher. The Role As an Analyst, you will: • Support Major Research Tasks: Improve, execute, and effectively communicate significant analyses on aerospace markets and technologies (e.g. “identify M&A deals in the last 5 years in Engine MRO market, breakdown and identify insights”), and deliver meaningful, insight-rich outputs., • Provide Input to Report Workstreams: Participate in meetings regularly with managers to assess activities progression and to identify and implement improvements for more-efficient operations, • Support Market Modelling: Provide research data to support modelling decisions, update and maintain existing SQL- and Excel-based (e.g. identify Collins sites revenue, size and number of employees) databases. Maintain appropriate level of documentation on internal tools to support governance., • Support engagement with clients: Undertake data analysis to support leadership engagement with clients, interviews with SMEs, and for trade shows and conferences preparation. About You You are a curious, self-motivated professional with a passion for aerospace and defence (A&D) and the drive to become an industry voice. Ideally, you have: • Experience: Either of 2+ years aerospace industry experience within the aerospace supply chain or working in a market analysis, consulting, strategy, investment research, or similar field; an advanced degree in aerospace related field; or a bachelor’s degree with significant placement or internship experience in an aerospace related role. Please note that we will specifically be looking for prior experience in an aerospace and defence (A&D)-related role – if it is not obvious on your CV what this is, we recommend adding a cover letter to your CV., • Industry Knowledge: A strong interest in commercial and/or defence aerospace – with the aptitude to rapidly build knowledge in industry topics that are beyond your current experience., • Analytical & Modelling Skills: Exposure to quantitative analysis, financial or market modelling. Advanced Excel, familiarity with SQL or databases is a strong plus., • Financial Statement Analysis: The ability to analyse financial statements like balance sheets, annual reports, and cash flow statements to assess a company's financial health., • Ownership and process improvement: Ability to perform research tasks independently and provide feedback on insights and ways to improve tasks processes to meet deadlines., • Communication: Confident written and verbal communication skills, including interviewing industry experts and presenting findings to colleagues., • Curious Mindset: Independent, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity—able to “figure it out” and deliver insights without constant direction.
